My favorite is how much holier-than-thou Tina acted with her integrity yet she backstabbed Kel (he said she promised not to vote for him), Maralyn, Mitchell,
Jerri and Amber in order to advance the Christian Coalition

And that word "deserve.".......like who deserves to stay or to be there. In my view, you deserve to be there if you play a part in helping me win the mil. You don't "deserve" to be there simply for honesty, brute strength, challenge dominance, good work ethic at camp, etc. Nope. Not unless it helps me advance. |

Kenny said it best. "Who deserved to go?" I loved that quote.

To be honest, I think it totally depends on the season, the cast, and especially the jury. Todd couldn't have if he played with Palau, most likely.

And I completely agree about the whole "deserves" bull shit.
But to be honest, I would have fought tooth and nail to get rid of Kenny. That kid just fucking sucks. |

Ken was an overly deceptive player and a jury threat, so getting rid of him would have been a good idea, and really easy given that he was also easily
deceived. And the jury on Palau could go DIAF for all I care, except for Coby. Katie said it best with respect to Caryn: "We can't have an all-girls
alliance because Caryn sucks." She, along with most of that cast, did suck, except for Coby (who actually was willing to play) and Steph (who was
cutthroat and likable in that season. She kind of suicided herself in Guatemala, but at least she showed that she was willing to play).

And since when does winning a challenge count as a strategy? If you're making no moves to actively get rid of other people, you aren't really playing
to win.

It's the personalities and the relationships that make any strategy/alliance moves really significant, otherwise it'd be as fun as watching a chess piece move. And unlike some of you heathens (joking) I actually would rather someone who is a nice and honest person win than someone who is greedy, just a personal thing. |

Yeah, but anyone who goes on the show is pretty greedy to begin with. And it's been proven time and time again that you have to lie to win the show. Even
precious Vee and Yul and Danni lied to win the game.
I just don't understand why people think there's such a problem with lying to win this game. You're pretty much forced to lie in Survivor. It's the unnecessary cruelty a la Boston Rob that is bull shit. |

Stranded wrote: Sandra would disagree with the statement. Playing just to survive and riding coat tails while making sure a goat goes with you into the finals is another way of winning, just one that is much harder (and requires a certain type of person) to pull off. And Boston Rob's unnecessary cruelty is not only bullshit, but it's also bad gameplay. Seriously, pissing people off is not the way to win their jury votes, and it puts a bigger target on your back. The contestants seem to be really good at forgetting that part of winning survivor involves getting people to actually like you or at least respect you. |

Stranded |

Yeah, I can see where you're coming from with Sandra. But if you're only strategy is winning immunity so people can't get rid of you (Terry), you
aren't playing any strategy.
Immunity runs are important, like with Jenna Morasca, but they aren't a strategy in and of itself. |

Am I the only one who kind of disagrees? I think Survivor is a game, just a game, and it's stupid when people start moralizing and preaching. Total
agreeance there. BUT, as in ANY OTHER GAME, there is a way to play or win that doesn't cross the line into downright bad behavior. For example, there are a
lot of talented WR's in the NFL. But not all of them have the obnoxious, by now predictable "celebrations" of TO, and not all of them act like
whiny douches a la TO. Not all of them stage press conferences slamming their own teammates and coaches. TO isn't hated because he's talented, he's
hated because he's just an asshole.
So to me, while I admire the villainous masterminds like Brian and Hatch as much as anyone, people like Boogie, Maggot, Dreamz, Corinne, etc. turn my stomach. So I do hate to see them anywhere near the grand prize. |

Terry was a shitty ass leader who couldn't lead his tribe to victory when Casaya had fucking Cirie (who, albeit a huge strategic threat, is a terrible
challenge player), and then he never tried to use his idol to generate numbers or protect his goat.

fsmdud wrote:X. Terry was only able to play such a 'clean' game because he was able to win every immunity challenge and never had to use any strategy. What were all the other players meant to do? They had to tell lies in order to succeed. Self righteous douche bag. All this integrity shit does go back to that moralizing bitch Tina though. Wonderful player, but I hate that she bequeathed the notion that some people were more 'deserving' than others. It was bullshit anyway, because if that was really what she was concerned with she would of voted Kieth out at the Final 5. |
