I hate to break it to you but Obama isn't a genius mastermind with so much authority that he can persuade foreign governments to engage in a war that could be bad news for the entire world. Israel was reacting to Hamas. And if anything Israel probably started the war before the Obama administration took power so that he would have no power to restrain Israel from people who don't recognize its right to exist. |

You're right - Hamas isn't interested in winning any sort of war. And they won't win. They are getting exactly what they wanted. Now, how their actions can lead to you being alright with Israel's vastly disproportionate response against people not involved in this conflict at all is puzzling, but I'd welcome an explanation. If Israel wanted to engage in a proportionate response, it would launch 4 or 5 poorly made and poorly aimed missiles randomly into Hamas territory. That would be proportional. Proportionality is such bullshit anyway. It doesn't win wars or secure stability for anyone. If a state's policy argues for the annhilitation of some other state then it's the responsibility of that second state to destroy the offensive capability of the first. Hamas won't stop if Israel mimicked every action made by Hamas. That's ridiculous to think proportionality solves anything. |

If your options are killing hundreds of civilians because your true enemies are cowards or killing no one, I'd argue that killing no one is the more reasonable approach. Nothing Israel is doing right now is going to benefit anyone, especially Israel.Killing no one is NOT an option you fucktard. Israel has to protect its citizens from these rocket attacks and citizens HAVE DIED from them already. Israel solely targeted Hamas sites during this fight and its unfortunate that people died. Stop trying to make Hamas look like it needs sympathy because they are terrorists! |

Actually, I don't doubt at all that Hamas was elected because the people who live in Gaza are tied of having the shit bombed out of them. It's fucked
up that they turn to the people who instigate much of the misery rained upon them, sure, but that's not relevant. What are their options? They live in
poverty, in substandard conditions, surrounded by an ethnic majority that treats them as second class citizens and clearly has no interest in lasting peace.

Israel initially bombed tunnel access points, not indiscriminate bombing. Those tunnels were for smuggling bomb and rocket making materials of WAR! The second phase of bombings is the current targeting of paramilitary commanders and leadership. Y'now, the same thing we did against Germany, Italy (before they flipflopped), Japan and a half dozen retarded miniscule conflicts in the last 60+ years |
