Why would you move someplace that you've never visited?
New Mexico is eleven billion times better than Arizona - unless you're from California, then um... yeah, move to Phoenix. It's great. |

gup, I like the Phoenix Zoo a lot. Have fun at the block party! You're a braver soul than I. Also, check out our new light rail system!

SuperGup...the Phoenix zoo is very good. At least I really liked it because they had different animals than we have up here in Seattle. The rhinos are
awesome; they have this huge tortoise, javalinas, meerkats, etc. Definitely worth a trip, but go in the winter.
As far as moving to Phoenix, nice place to visit, but I would never want to live there. It's SOOOOO hot. Even in December. And it's sunny all the time. I like clouds. Plus, there's no green. It's all brown. No trees; all cactus. But that's just me. Why don't you take a trip there during July and then make a decision. |

Phoenix zoo is good but the botanical gardens right next door is having a Dale Chihuly show which kicks ass. Go there and then go home.

As a San Antonio Spurs fan, I implore you, for your sanity and to save you future embarassment as a citizen of a high crime, whiny town, don't move there.

the Phoenix zoo is very good. The more I think about it, the more strongly I recommend it. I haven't been to all that many zoos, but I did visit the National Zoo in D.C. a year ago, and while the Phoenix Zoo doesn't have pandas, I think we have many more animals and quite a bit more variety. and to reply to Seahawketti, you do realize that Phoenix was built in a desert, right? Deserts do tend to be rather brown, but there's this wonderful thing called "landscaping" and it allows for trees, flowers and even *gasp* grass. Our annual rainfall is a bit pathetic, but then again, it's a DESERT! It just makes you appreciate the overcast or rainy days (ok, minutes) all the more. Squash ain't bullshittin' you about the Botanical Gardens. |

kittyphx wrote:Yes, shockingly I do realize Phoenix is in a desert. My point is, if you are used to trees and greenery around you, you might find Phoenix very dry and brown. My family lives there; they don't mind. But I think I would go crazy without anything green. I know they can have grass, but very few do. All the yards I see are landscaped with cactus and rocks. |

101 Loop is a genius transportation feat.
Glendale/Surprise is nice. Scottsdale is overpirced. Giblert/Chandler/Mesa is ripe for the foreclosure market. Or stay close to Tempe for the sweet co-ed poon. poon rules |
