Heath Ledger? Are you kidding me? |
Lead | |
|
Saw the first part of the new Batman movie and it rocks. But two things really suck- the Joker and the butler dude. Ledger for an Academy Award? Horseshit
performance. Like nails screeching on a chalkboard. And Caine is the most arrogant and smarmiest butler ever. And fat. Movie would have been a lot better
without them. Say, Jesse Ventura as the Joker, and Carson Daly as the butler.

So are you trolling or do you actually have no taste?

Isn't nails "screeching" on a chalkboard the whole point of the Joker?

I haven't seen the movie yet, but I've seen bits and pieces online of the Joker. He might have worked better if he didn't speak at all. He did look
scary as fuck:

I thought Heath was solid as the Joker, but his performance was indeed a bit overated. Much like Cobain, he probably wouldn't get half the praises he did
if he was still alive.

He might have worked better if he didn't speak at all His lines and delivery are filmdom's greatest since Doc Holliday in Tombstone. |

Mark Hamill would not have been better.

If you've had a look at Mark Hamill recently you'd see he'd make a decent Two-Face.

Ledger was dominating. That is why Bale went and beat up his mom...Ledger was stealing the headlines.

I just saw The Dark Knight two nights ago. Going into it, I thought that I would think that people were overpraising Heath Ledger because he died, but I
actually do think he did an amazing job as the Joker. Every time he came on screen he made me nervous and uneasy which I'm pretty sure is how I was
supposed to feel whenever the Joker came on screen.

Who would be a good Mad Hatter? Another point for Mark?
Luke is so diverse. |

"Why, Johnny Ringo [muttermutterslurmutter]" is the best line of Tombstone.

Antithesys wrote: This is an excellent comparison. I just watched it again today. I thought he was truly amazing. You could tell they just let him go with the character, even down to the touching of his face, you could see that they never bothered to cut the scene, he still had the make up on his hands and in his nails in many scenes. How many movies do you see that? He was brilliant and I am sad we won't get to see how great he'd have become. I hope he collects as many awards as he's nominated for for this role, he's earned them. He out acted the rest of the cast by far. |
