Dwayne & Stephen - Military Buddies; 41 and 42
Dwayne and Stephen have both served in the US Military for 20 years or so and have never looked back. Both enjoy their jobs immensely and have not only gotten use to the tough conditions but enjoy it. These two middle-aged fathers claim that they have both the physical and mental toughness that is required to do well in the race because they have experienced the tough rigors of military training almost daily. They are definitely physically fit for their age and are highly disciplined individuals. Their strong friendship that has lasted for nearly 15 years, fortified with military comradeship will also put them in good stead in the shot for the million dollars as both feel that nothing in the race can cause their relationship to buckle. However, both agree that they are both very headstrong and have strong personalities and this might lead to problems in decision-making in the race. When asked how they will approach the race, Dwayne says that he'll approach it with tenacity and strength while Stephen says being cool and not panic during high-pressure situations is going to be vital.

Damien & Naomi - Engaged; 46 and 24
At first glance, Damien and Naomi might look like father-daughter but they are in fact, an engaged couple. The age gap between the two has certainly caused friction in the relationship both towards each other and also from family opinion. However, their love has stood strong and both are set to be married in a few months time. Damien is a High School teacher by profession whereas Naomi is an aspiring writer and artist. Both are very certain that they are meant for each other and nothing, not even the world, can overcome their feelings for each other. Damien jokingly comments that he's more than 100% sure Naomi has true feelings for him since he's neither rich nor charming. Naomi rebuts by saying that she has a fetish for senior citizens. Damien then gives a sarcastic laugh, obviously peeved by her comment. Both feel that they will be able to win the race as they are a well-balanced team. Naomi cites Damien as intelligent, physically fit and having a strong sense of direction while Damien cites Naomi as having a strong intuition and being an extremely strong-willed girl.

Carmen & Lindsey - Heiresses/Twins ; 28 and 28
Describing Carmen & Lindsey as "rich" would be an understatement. The pair have a combined inheritance from their business conglomerate parents totaling a breathtaking 50 million US dollars. Evidently, the pair aren't running the race for the money but will instead donate whatever they win from the race to charitable causes. Carmen expresses that they're in the race because they want to be pushed and are curious how capable they really are on their own. Lindsey quickly jumps on this comment and says, "Well duh. It's not like we can't afford to travel around the world... But this is gonna be the ultimate test for us. And maybe it'll be a good wake up call, if there's a need for one." She also states that many people instantly label them as bimbotic and spoilt wastrels who are nothing without their parents' money. Both feel that they honestly believe that they are going to surprise many people as despite having been pampered all their lives, they know that they are tough women. Carmen, the older twin, however, admits that both of them, especially Lindsey, are high-maintenance girls and that while they are definitely not snobs, they sometimes rub people off the wrong way. Lindsey is quick to comment that she is more than able to throw a massive bitchfit at anyone who dares tread on their toes.

Veronica & Francine - Retirees/Life Partners ; 54 and 57
Veronica & Francine have an unique relationship, to say the least. Both have been living together for nearly 25 years now but yet, they both describe their sexuality as "straight". Veronica jokes that they tried the whole Lesbian thing many times but it was just "not their cup of tea". Francine complements her joke and says that perhaps they are asexual instead. Both have been each other's best friends since childhood and continue to be each other's sole companion as both are still unmarried. Veronica describes 90% of men as jerks, 9% of the other 10% are gay and that's why they have remained unattached. With such a strong and solid relationship, it is no wonder that both feel that despite their age, they will be strong contenders for the million dollars. With age comes experience says Francine and as far as travelling experience is concerned, they feel that they are unmatched as throughout their lives, they have visited more than 30 different countries across all six inhabited continents. When it comes to the strategic aspect of the race, they joke that they hope to be underestimated and then use their walking sticks to stab the "ignorant young fools'" back who will never know what hit them. But on a serious note, they state that their sheer willpower and determination will probably propel them out of the "cannon fodders group" at the very least.
