Question since most of you are possibly old enough to be my parents. I'm nineteen years old and had just gotten my high school diploma. I dropped out of
school when I was seventeen to help my single mother out with bills, so I was able to get another job to help her out. After dropping out, I worked two jobs
but signed up for online classes. A year and a half later, I finally had completed these online courses and received a diploma from my old high school. Not
only did I get a diploma, but I also got accepted full time to a university college with honors.
However, during that time, my sexuality (I'm gay) had caused the relationship with my mom to deteriorate causing myself to leave the house to live with my boyfriend and fend for myself. Since, I have done some nude modeling as well as some pornography for a local studio to gain money after loosing my job. Finally, I came back home and will be leaving again in three weeks.
My question is that my mother who has hardly talked to me in the past seven months is asking if I can walk because she wants to see me do it. She claims I'm her only son. I am not interested in it at all, and the ceremony is at 7pm the day before I leave for college, taking up most of my night.
What do you guys think I should do? I have clear reasons to not walk because it's my choice and I don't feel I owe my mother much, but I could just be immature in how I'm thinking. Any takers?! Sorry to make this a Dear Abby....
