Actually, it's not a bad idea for Andy to do this show. Currently, he's known as an out of control freak who tanked a great career. I can't imagine anyone outside of VHI hiring him. If he can gain some sympathy and understanding and show that he's really trying to improve his life, it could revive his career. It's not like he's Jeff Conaway and hasn't worked in 20 years. Andy's buddy Ben Stiller could hire him for something.

He was an up and coming comic actor in the early 90's and was on his way after doing The Ben Stiller Show, and News Radio ran for 4 years. Although a lot of his big roles didn't fly (The New Get Smart, The Andy Dick Show), he was in with Stiller, Bob Odenkirk, Todd Phillips (director of Old School), and lots of other people who have huge careers right now and love to use him in their projects. He's actually incredibly talented and when he's not drunk/high/literally humping anything that moves he's a pleasure to work with. I doubt that a project could get insured if he was involved.

By the time News Radio ended he was in his full blown addict out of control off the deepend stage, thus nothing worth a damn after that. Unless you count The Assistant, which was hilarious, although small time.
