I love to give special homemade gifts. This is one of the gifts I made for someone and I think they really liked it. Well I guess they could have lied to me.

That's beautiful, Zippy.
A woman at work makes everything - ornaments- throws- socks. I think it's great when someone puts time into a gift, especially if the receiver is sentimental. |

I knitted my sister a scarf last year when I was in my knitting phase. She claims she liked it.
I always make cookies and bring them to my neighbors. Homemade cookies are ok, right? |

I got a made gift yesterday - clay snowman (like a cookie cutter cookie) with a thick copper wire twirled around to form the hook. it's made by a real
artist though so it's not at all crappy/rough looking; i love it.

Homemade shit >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> gift cards. Just admit it.
I don't tend to make anything, per se, but I like to make strange combos and "baskets" and such to make it more personal than just a gift-wrapped DVD. |

Some homemade gifts are good. I have an aunt that is an amazing painter, so I loved my homemade gift from her. And my grandma used to give us scarfs and
slippers that she knit herself, before she had her stroke. I miss those slippers.

If you don't want a cotton ball tree, just say so.

if it's something actually good, then homemade is great.
but the people that make me crochet extra-roll-of-toilet-paper-covers really suck. i know it took time to make, but the end result is a useless thing that nobody wants. in fact, i think any gift homemade or not that is just something to clutter up people's homes is of you-shouldnt-have-really quality |
