I admit that I am a fan of the Onion Alliance. I think the way they structured their alliance was very smart and had things planned out. Just because things didn't work out doesn't mean that their ideas weren't good. Saying that, I do think their behavior is pathetic. In all honesty, I can understand the bitterness (at the time of the Ponderosa, not talking about interviews). From Marcus's boot to Crystal's, it was, what, only 12-15 days? The wounds at that time were still fresh. Yes, it is just a game (which is why I'm saying that I think people still being bitter now is just dumb; you can be mad you got beat, but get over the personal feelings), but I admit that if I was booted after seemingly having the numbers, I'd be pissed. And, I've been in positions where I've been mad at someone, and then when I talked to my friends, rather than calming down, I got more worked up, and probably blew it out of proportion. I honestly think things would've been different had Randy's idol been real and a non-onion went to the jury after Charlie. I understand the bitterness and I even get not wanting to associate with the person/people who you feel did you wrong. But, I think you can still get your point across while being respectful. The ignoring and the silent treatment are uncalled for. They could've easily said that they weren't sure how they'd feel once someone of the other alliance showed up and they needed some time. I'm still a fan of some of the people in that alliance (I don't think this automatically makes them the most horrific people ever to exist; I'd have loved to have seen some Ponderosa clips from Marquesas or All-Stars, where there were some bitter fucking jurors), can understand where their feelings are coming from, but can't excuse their behavior.

And, I haven't read all these interviews, but I read that Crystal said she would not vote for Sugar because Sugar blindsided her (I believe it was the TV Guide interview). That's a different kind of bitterness there. Couldn't we say that if she really believed it was just a game, she'd be able to look past that and look at Sugar's entire game? Sugar basically saved her by siding with Crystal/Kenny over Ace.

12-15 days in survivor time is like 10 years IRL. Seriously - it would take any rational adult at most a day to get over it, or at least learn to be civil to your nemisis, primarily because you are all in the same boat at that point, they're all losers.

I actually thought the opposite. While it may feel like 10 years, there's always the constant reminder. I was just taking it from the perspective that even though you're out of the game, you're not. You're not back in your everyday life with all the distraction. And, every three days, you have to sit in as a reminder that not only are you no longer in the game, but you have to watch the people that took you out. I know that for me personally, it might take a couple days to get over things. I'd probably be more mad at myself because I'd be overanalyzing every mistake I made and thinking what I could've done differently. But, I also don't think it would help having people like Randy and Corinne come along spouting off their harsh feelings.

I'm just saying that I can understand having the bitter feelings, especially when all I've done is probably sit around and bitch about it with my friends. Again, that in no way excuses their behavior. I would still try my hardest to be civil, unless I was with someone who I felt was personally attacking me (that wasn't part of the game). I'm just saying that even though I don't agree with their behaviors, I understand their feelings. What can I say, I just finished another semester towards becoming a counselor, and we just discussed a bunch of counseling theories. I'm all about analyzing what people do and why they do it. And every fucking theory is about positive regard and all that bullshit. It's all about understanding where people come from.
