What would happen if... |
Lead | |
|
Let's say, Somebody finds the HII in somebody else's bag, and decides to just throw it in the river, or like in the jungle, would the production give
another to the person who originatly had ,or is it just simply lost for ever?

You cannot steal someone's idol, therefore you would be disqualified.

I've always wondered what would happen if the camp burned down and destroyed the idol, because I'm sure someone could make it look like an accident...
If there's any remains, it'd probably still count as an idol (like how half of the necklace burned off in the Amazon).

Hidden Immunity ashes would be great to carry around!

Now here's a real question. It's been said that Ozzy didn't take his idol with him to Tribal Council in Micronesia, since he always felt so
confident, so I'll assume he didn't take it to challenges, either. If he hadn't taken it with him to the reward challenge in Episode 5, and had
gotten switched to the Airai tribe, would production have made sure to give it to him, or would it have been stuck on Malakal Beach, inaccessible to him?

What if the person with the idol lost it?

One thing I always wondered is, what if someone gives the idol to their ally... like Sugar did to Ace. Then Ace refuses to give it back if she asks. Who has
possession really? I guess it would have to be Ace right?
I want to see someone do that just because of the shitstorm it would cause, but I guess they don't because the obvious attempt to flush it that would follow. I only hope there's a crazy enough player to do this someday, it would be so funny. |

You shouldn't be able to steal it or it'll turn into a back-and-forth stealing match, that may turn into something physical...
And those rules are what were posted on the inside of the hut thing on exile in Micronesia... don't know where they came from; I think it was a photo taken by someone in production. |

kenc333 wrote: No it won't, and if it does, that is the their problem. The no stealing rule gives the HII posesser too much power. If anyone was allowed to just take it, than that adds a whole other dynamic to the game. It will add paranoia, can you trust eve your allies with your belongings? |

Seriously? You don't know the answer to this? If someone could steal the idol, then you would almost certainly have a physical confrontation. What, do
you think someone would steal it and the other person not try to pry it out of their hands? People would potentially fight over this thing, and I don't
think the show wants to have to go through all the legal troubles of a physical confrontation. It's something they haven't had to deal with for 17
seasons. No reason to tempt fate now.

Legal troubles? The persons on the show are responsible for any harm that comes to being. The weight of medical bills and other repercussions are on their
shoulders. Anyways, that's not the point. The point is, the game of Survivor means that some people are inherently advantaged, and others are inherently
disadvantaged. If the HII immeadiatly becomes the property of the first person who finds it, than that cuts off opportunities for others to gain power. That is
because people naturally align with the holder of the hidden immunity idol. People with the hii may be betrayed, but the majority idol alliance always wins.
It is more interesting imo if the idol is slippery. Perhaps make it into a sort of magical talisman or something.

Magical...talisman.

Its original name actually was the immunity talisman (not idol). So it's not that far off to just start calling it the magic talisman. At least we're
making an homage to the first season on some level.

SenseiKreese wrote: Yeah, that's what I was thinking of when I wrote that. Something I find interesting is how the HII is basically a way of saying that the producers have no faith in immunity challenges. The whole point of winning immunity is that you are safe from expulsion, and thus you are free to play fast and loose with power dealings. Also, challenges used to have a theme to them. |
