Well, they really aren't. Marcus is a doctor and Charlie is a lawyer with Ivy League degrees, so they can talk
about being more educated. Corinne is a public university communications major. Not much to sneeze at, especially seeing as Crystal has the same degree from
UNC, a better school. Ken's also a college student, Bob has a Masters, and Susie may not be college educated but it's not like being a normal middle
class mom makes you a "loser" at life.

I think people like Charcus USE people like Corinne to do their dirty work.
They like being around her because she is willing to say and do the beeyotchy things that they are thinking ( and it entertains them), but they don't want to take that same "low road." It's OK if their buddy Corinne does, though, bc then she is doing their nastiness for them. In one of his post-boot interviews, Marcus talked about Corinne as not a very nice person. Wonder what she thought about that. On 2nd thought, maybe she liked that opinion. |

Granted it's based on editing, but I think entertainment also had a lot to do with why viewers disliked the Onions.
Marcus was a bit dull, and came off a bit arrogant. Charlie was a one trick pony, and every confessional was dedicated to his love for Marcus. Jacquie was a no trick pony, and said about five things the entire season. Corinne was practically unseen and unheard of the first 6 episodes. It wasn't until the past few that she even actually got screen time. On the other hand people like Crystal, Sugar, and Kenny have been all major focus points all season long. I'm not saying they are more entertaining, but I am saying the editors want us to beleive they are, and I think that is why people enjoy them more. |

I'm not rooting for the Fang Five because they are perceived underdogs/losers. I'm rooting for them because they are all genuinely warm-hearted people.
I can tell these things. :)
To me, Corinne, Charlie and Marcus are the real-life losers. |

The fact that they seem to have no problem associating themselves with OBVIOUS RACISTS (Randy and his gang posse speech and CUNTRINE with the unbelievable
migrant sugar worker remark) means that they also have no problem with having that label attached to themselves. So yeah.

Yeah. That remark was bogus as hell. At least Randy said he apologized for his remarks to Crystal, and admitted he didn't realize it had such connotations
until he saw it on TV.
Referring to a Hispanic woman living in IOWA and married to a white man as some "migrant worker" on a sugar farm? That takes the fucking cake as far as overt bigotry. |

Where is it said that Susie is very poor? She was raised as a migrant worker, but now she's a hairdresser and an assistant teacher. Her husband appears
to have a blue collar job, and based on the video and visit from home they seem to make a modest living. She could certainly use a million dollars, but
it's not like she's homeless. And besides, she seems to have a family that loves her, which makes her rich by default. In any case, the amount of
education you have has nothing to do with your amount of class or character. Corinne has neither.

Class is subjective. I think I read an interview with or saw a video of Susie referring to herself as poor, or at least lower-income. Maybe I'm way
off-base.
Lots of (what I would consider to be) "rich" people/families call themselves "middle class," and lots of "middle income" households refer to themselves as "poor." I know my family referred to us as "lower-middle income" or "poor" on several occasions when I was growing up. Whereas a couple of former employers I knew considered a Caribbean Cruise a "great, affordable middle class vacation." Doesn't mean the Smith household is poor by some government standard, but lots of families downplay their own wealth across the board. |
