He must be confident that he won't be in any danger despite voting with Corinne/Bob. Eh, it's hindsight. If he gets to the end, getting her vote, then great play. (And even greater work avoiding being targetted in the next few rounds despite voting in the minority.) If he gets voted off, then not-so-good move.

He is really sure that they have the idol because it has one of those metal heads on it like the feast idol. Now he is fairly certain that Matty is going home. He wants to gain the trust of Corrine and Bob so he (looking ahead) can ultimately betray them. It actually would've worked out stunningly had they actually had the idol. Helps to get Cor's vote should he make it and Bob doesn't, extends to Randy (who seems to hate everyone but Matty and Ken on the main alliance), could feasibly extend to Marcus and Charlie due to a shared alliance. Likewise, even if he knew it was false (doubt he knew), it builds some sort of debt or potential alliance (depending on how Kenny plays it) with Bob and it should protect him if Bob wins immunity (the ability to flip scaring the others into a safe vote out of someone else). To me, it seems like a swap. Make the current path a little more treacherous in exchange for a noticeable advantage in the jury stage should he make it. Now, he could get voted off soon and it looks dumb. However, since the possibility in his head existed that it was real, those potential benefits allow the decision to be reasonably defended.

At around the merge, I started to dislike him and after the last two episodes, he's seemed so arrogant and it makes it hard to like him. Ken Stafford is <3 though. See, I don't hate Ken because he has the same name as me ;)
