Last I checked Dallas is a big boy who SHOULD be responsible enough to double check to see he has all his belongings before leaving a taxi cab.

Maybe the cameraman can go to the bathroom for Dallas too just in case he would forget to pull his pants up after taking a shit.

That is just incredibly ridiculous. Production forces Dallas to take off his pack and then when it's not returned because of the microphone change,
it's left behind in the taxi. Production got involved in the first place so they should have gotten involved to fix their mistake.
Even if they stopped and grabbed the bag, they could have just taken the cash and said passports only, because they are needed to travel. At least Toni/Dallas could have had a shot at the race, that could have changed their whole attitude having the passports and just needing to beg money. On top of that, it's lame they had to go back during the leg instead of getting the penalty at the mat. That's generally what happens if you misread clues, penalty at the mat. They didn't send Freddy/KKKuntra back during the 2nd leg of TAR6 for taking a second clue because they lost their first one, they made them wait 30 minutes. Fuck production. They should award Toni/Dallas some form of a monetary reimbursement for not making the F3. They should have made the F3 and been in good contention to win. |

You think the sound guy spirited the pack away into some hidden recess in the seat? Why would production even need to touch it? Dallas most likely took it off, tossed it on the floor, and forgot about it. Fuck production.Production is the whole reason Toni and Dallas were even on the show, chosen from thousands of hopefuls and given a FREE trip around the world, plus whatever prizes they could/did win along the way. Not to mention that production is the reason TAR exists at all, as a TELEVISION SHOW. It's not production's fault that Dallas is an idiot. |

I do believe if producation made dallas surrender his fanny pack and then didn't hand it to him (like they stuck it in the taxi or something) then it was their fault. If they handed it to him and then he put it down and forgot it then it's his fault.

Production had no need to hang onto the FANNY pack once it was taken off. They changed the battery on his MIC pack, which he was wearing on his person. Even
if they were still holding onto the fanny pack for some reason, Dallas was stupid not to make sure he had it when exiting the cab.
ETA: I don't see why they ever would have made him hand over the fanny pack, since they had no use for it. They would just need him to get it out of the way of his mic pack. |

A Dying Clown wrote:Romber just got owned in that leg by the pilot, not production. It is up to the pilot to decide to return back or not. Uchenna/Joyce layed the guilt trip on the gate attendants and through them, the pilot, to get the plane back there. And if you read the reports of the incident correctly, they just reattached the gate. The plane hadn't even left yet. |

While I do agree that the mistake was Dallas, he should have known to check his belongings before he let the cab go, I am confused a bit.
What was with the middle of leg penalty, making T/D go back and take a taxi? I know it has happened right before the Pitstop( a la Dandrew in Leg 8), but I thought that middle of leg not following directions resulted in a 30 Min. penalty(a la Mark and Bill in Leg 3)? Why was this different for T/D. I too think the camerman/sound guy should have grabbed the fanny pack, but not cause of the passports. I mean, isnt there important race documents in there like all of the teams clues? I woulda thought they would have at least grabbed it so someone else did not pick it up and have access to TAR info like that? Is the rule really that strict to not interfere that production is willing to take the risk in that situation that info will be left behind and possibly leaked? |

ummmmm geeeeeeee maybe production didn't realize that Dallas left his bag behind until the cab was already gone just like Dallas. You do realize that shot
of the bag on the floor of the cab was a re-enactment don't you?

I think a lot of you guys forget that this is a TV show. It is edited and production stuff happens behind the scenes all the time that is never shown. The
battery packs have to be changed all the time. Sometimes they even put rubbers on them to keep them from getting wet :-)
We lost our pack at a bookstore looking for maps. I didn't realize it until I was getting ready to board a plane. Luckily, the lady at the bookstore saw it and put it behind the counter. After that I didn't let that thing out of my sight. remember how The Danies lost their pack in Season 9. |
