Survivor is in essense, about the castaways, not "the game". I hate the HII and all the newer twists because they emphasize the game instead of accentuating who the castaways are.

I actually like a couple of the players getting the "underdogs are great" voice overs, but I agree that it's ham fisted and obnoxious. I think
Borneo was the only season where we were permitted to go along for the ride and get to know the players for who they were. Like it or not, some boots are gonna
be random as all hell. Not everything has to be a strategic power play. Also: Sugar leading the tribe? What the hell?

Jeff's opinion pisses me off because it is as useful as any of ours. Jeff sees the Survivors at challenges and at tribal. That's it! Maybe he gets some
random footage from Burnett, but it isn't like he has some extra insight. Sure, he seems them for the whole time, and we get edited challenges and crap.
But that's very little more. Jeff might know them post-game better, but during the game (and when his opinion of them would matter, since what they did
post-game is meaningless), he is crap. I might as well write columns for EW.
And the only great ending to this season would be them announcing Jiffy Pop's vocal chords were slashed and all future seasons would be emceed via semifore. I wanna see JP struggle. Bastard has it way too easy - at least on Rock n Roll Jeopardy he had to make an effort to learn how to pronounce Autechre and Cruxxshadows. Who wants to be Fang was pronounced Fong because jiffy was bored/too dumb/lazy. |

I find it funny how Probst went from "Previously on Survivor.......Fang, the shittiest tribe in Survivor history, continued to make fucked up
decisions...." To now calling them them underdogs and licking Matty's balls. I guess he was dissing them, because he knew they would come out on top,
thus trying to fool the audience. His strategy is pretty simple, root for the alpha male of the dominating tribe and if he gets fucked over, switch to the
alpha male of the once losing tribe.
I've enjoyed this season, but yeah, it was pretty fucking retarded. By all logic Fang members should've got decimated but they handed half the Kota tribe to them on a silver platter thanks to those switches. |
