I've never been there, but that won't stop me from offering advice. Scroll through these posts for some restaurant ideas (ignore the Victoria ones):

You can get pot anywhere, though I have never had to buy it on the streets. I'd recommend the steps by the art gallery. They all have it on them or at
least know where to get some. If you want to do something different go down to the Vapour Lounge on West Hastings and smoke it with a vaporizer. I did bong
hits with Marc Emery in his office underneath it. (Weird guy)
Pizza...uhhh I don't know if I've ever had bad pizza. Best pizza I've ever had was on Commercial Drive. I completely forget which place it was, but it's a dollar a slice. Robson street. You're right in the middle of everything. Tons of sushi places, lots and lots of shopping. Check out Granville street. Any sort of nightlife you're also in the middle of. Walking distance from everything. Vancouver is the biggest city on the West coast...if there's anything to do, it's there. |

Stepho's on Davie Street is a MUST! Best Greek food in town! Expect to line up for at least 40 minutes to get in, but you won't be disappointed.
BC Bud you can get just about anywhere. We used to like to sit on the steps of the art gallery and smoke a joint. The cops are pretty relaxed and will tell you to "get rid of it" if they see you. Stanley park is a beautiful place to wander - just stay off the trails at twilight, because it becomes a bit of a cruising ground. Take the Skytrain out to Metrotown (or whatever the hell it's called now) Big mall, has stores...nuff said. Also, if you like Sushi, Samurai on Davie is a good place to go. (It's literally two doors up from Stepho's) HUGE portions and cheap! I hope you like Vangroovy. I loved living there. |

Oh good. I can stalk! Bring more pictures of shovel girl and the "can you hear me now?" guy.
What do you want to do the most? Shop, outdoor things, eat, and obviously smoke weed. In addition to the Capilano bridge if you are into that, go to the Lyn Valley Suspension bridge.. way more shaky scary. Not as high up, and no commerical attractions, but it's free, and IMO has more exciting tumultuous water underneath. Capilano isn't as good for dropping your baby if you really want to get rid of it. I don't know how that one chick got away with it. Walk the seawall around Stanley Park if you want a view and don't mind walking 3 miles, but it really is a nice way to see the harbor. And yeah, stay out of the park after dark, but you can leave your husband, if he's cute. Driving around the park is cool 24/7, though. |

I'm here now! On Robson Street. I love this city. There are so many people and the traffic never stops. The Restaurants are all great and if you're
just walking and feel like a hot dog, you can get a Jap-a-Dog(I think that's what they're called.) Weird stuff on them but delicious. And Sushi, tons
and tons of sushi restaurants. But don't try the beef. It isn't Alberta and they really don't know how to cook it that well. The salmon is great
though. And there is a Starbucks on every corner so don't use Starbucks as a landmark to meet someone at.

I didn't notice, if we go there again, I'll check it out. I was too busy deciding what weird shit I wanted on my Hot dog. They're busy. It took us
about 20 minutes to get a hot dog this afternoon.

definitely check out Stepho's on Davie street and Granville Market. Take the gondola up Grouse Mountain (or if you are feeling adventurous and healthy,
take the Grouse Grind up and the gondola down) for a fabulous view of the city. Walk on the seawall around Stanley Park. Pick up some pot seeds in any of the
stores along Hastings Street. Drive out to Steveston for some fish & chips or go for a walk around Westham Island and see the thousands of snow geese
currently migrating through the area.
Don't block my view at AC/DC. If I see you, I'll slip you some herb. ;-) |

goner1 wrote: To HECK with the steam clock. Walk a few blocks over and hit my old stomping grounds, the grand old place called the Downtown Eastside and do some hoodrat stuff. (West Hastings = business area / East Hastings = Hellmouth) Why, on E. Hastings you'll find such delights as the faboo Amsterdam Cafe, where you can easily score. Be sure to walk two blocks over and get your e-meter tested at the Scientology Centre. Have a greezy breakfast at the Ovaltine Cafe and have lunch next door at the sleazy SaveOn Meats (you can't miss the neon pig). Do not mind the junkies, they're too far gone to mess with you. Whatever you do, do not follow the nice Honduran man into the back alley. If you're feeling sinister, you simply must hop on the Skytrain to take in the sights, sounds and yes, smells of that nexus of zombiedom known as Surrey Central Station. Bonus points if you can snap a pick of a degenerate doing the infamous Whalley Wiggle. Tis a sight to be seen, fer shure. Everyone's suggestions have been great. If you have time, decompress at the Dr. Sun Yat Sen gardens. I'm sure you'll have a great time. Vancouver's a fine place to visit. Living here is a little tough unless you're rich and/or Asian. |
