i think SA means the Downtown Eastside
but yeah, avoid the area around Hastings and Main. Unless you wanna smoke crack on the street. |

No crack! A little marijuana would be nice though since I don't want to bring any with us when we go.

Ok, I just googled and apparently a couple of pot cafes are still around but they can't sell. They can prolly hook you up, though.

BC Bud is the best around...or so I've heard.
And ya, I meant the DES. Not exactly the kind of place you want to wander through. |

Yes. Only 1000-year-old Chinese people can wander there.

Maybe Capilano Park? http://www.capbridge.com/...couver_bc_attraction.html
Commercial Drive. I'm about 45 min. out of Vancouver, so most of the good places I know to eat are a little too out of the way... |

Well, she could always go to Surrey....nah, sending her there would be unimaginably cruel.
I actually like the DES and up Hastings where the Friendship Centre is, granted I've only been there a few times for meetings. |

We always have our umbrellas and emergency rain ponchos. The forecast is saying partly cloudy for Saturday and Sunday so I'm hoping it stays nice!
I'm still hoping someone has a good pizza suggestion. I haven't had pizza in months and there isn't a decent pizza place around here. I'm always looking when I travel. eta: oooh! That bridge is neato! I want to go there too!

Here, this is the Vancouver community on LJ, there might be some good info there: http://community.livejournal.com/vancouver/profile
Oh, hey! Is that first post there the REAL reason you're coming to Vancouver, Dharmit!? |

Bella Pizza izza da best in town. Flying Wedge is good, but kinda trendy. BC bud is by far the best in Canada, though I stopped smoking it for some inexplicable reason a while back. Am amazed, when I visit TO, with what they consider good weed. Bluesboi's probably smoking some transplanted BC hybrid. weather's meh right now, but that's normal for this time of year (like, Oct - June) ;-) (old) Gastown is nice, but pretty close to the DES if you wander too far. [spam]you can get an unconventional taste of Vancouver via my flickr page if ya wish[/spam] (WARNING: there's also pics of Rosie O'Donnell there) Enjoy my fine city... then get the hell out and don't breathe a word of it to anyone! |
