This is a bit OT, but I'm surprised this is the only picture I could find of Lady on Google where she isn't with Tramp. And for God's sake, it's not even a color picture! Make of that what you will, I guess. I for one, have always seen her as the main character and Tramp as the love interest and the special features on the Lady and the Tramp DVD seem to agree. Anyhow, on to Lady's ranking. I'm not a big fan of cocker spaniels (I prefer big dogs), but Lady is much cuter than any cocker spaniel I've seen in real life. She's some what of a spoiled princessy character, which is annoying given it reminds me of people I know in real life who spoil their (small) dogs rotten. Still, I can't help but feel bad for her when she realizes she is being "replaced" by Jim Dear and Darling's new baby. The emotion in those scenes always gets to me. I also liked the whole fish-out-of-water storyline where sheltered, spoiled Lady has to go out in the big scary world and mix with the strays. She develops a lot as a character through her journey into the real world and her relationship with Tramp.
11. Aladdin (Aladdin) I haven't seen this movie in quite a while and in all honesty, Aladdin might have ranked higher if I had. That said, I've always loved Aladdin because he just seems to be having so much fun. Even when he is running from the cops (or whatever) after stealing a loaf of bread at the beginning of the movie, he and his little monkey side kick, Abu make a game out of it. He's also a generous person, who gives half of the bread to some young orphans. That said, Aladdin does realize the trials and tribulations of being a "Street Rat" in Arabia and deep down, he's not as cheerful and spirited as he seems. As soon as he gets the chance, in fact, he wishes to be a prince to have the chance to marry Jasmine. The scenes of Aladdin pretending to be Prince Ali are some of the funniest in any Disney movie (on par with Mulan pretending to be "Ping", I'd say) because he is a terrible liar and doesn't act very princely. In the end, like most Disney heroes, Aladdin learns that its always better to be himself. Then, if there was any doubt about what a caring, good person Aladdin is, he uses his last wish to free the Genie. Such a nice scene <3.
10. Kuzco (The Emporer's New Groove) Kuzco is probably the quirkiest Disney protagonist (aside from maybe Lilo) and he's also, without a doubt, the assiest. That said, I just couldn't hate him no matter how much of a douchebag he is, because deep down, it seems, he's not really an arrogant jerk, he's just confused/oblivious/ignorant (and, like most arrogant douchebags, he doesn't have any real friends - but that's a different topic.) His over the top "It's all about me" attitude is both off-putting and hilarious at the same time and is a great commantary on the problems with the upper class in general. Kuzco gets his comeuppance when he is accidently transformed into a llama and cast out of the palace. Unlike Kenai, who had a similar story-arc, he actually makes the plot funny and interesting (not to mention, Pacha is way more fun than Koda ever was). I also gotta' love the fact that this one is set in Ancient Incan culture (which makes Kuzco the second Native American protagonist). I've always thought the Incas were awesome. |

You should rank the movies themselves also. It would be interesting to see how the movies rank in comparison to their characters.
