Kel? The general consensus is that if he didn't have beef jerky, he had SOMETHING. Jeff Probst and pretty much everybody have claimed that he was guilty.
It's quite a change in perception from 2001 (when most people just assumed Jerri was evil and made it up.)

i forget - when rupert steals their shoes in episode 1, are they just the dress shoes or something? is it like the other seasons where they cant bring clothes
but the producers give them their gym shoes for challenges and stuff? obviously the morgans would have needed shoes to race and stuff... was this answered on
the show?

it is a mystery |

Was the granola bar question ever answered?

Yup, just like how Osten sold his one shoe to that random shopkeeper.

Has it ever been known for sure that if there was a tie before the F4 that the PROD would be used? Everyone always says a tie with more than four people would
be broken by it, but on Jonathan's SL interview, I recall him saying something like "If I voted Yul out, and there was a tie at the F8, then I think
the tiebreaker would have been fire" or something implying it would have been fire at the F8.

Yeah, I think what the F10, F8, F6 tiebreakers would be is just something that gets speculated on. I mean, between Thailand up until Cook Islands it (I thought
I read they thought it'd be fire in EI, but I can't remember where) has been speculated to be rocks (like Tom/Ian assuming it is in Palau). In Cook
Islands it was sort of assumed to be fire, and I think the same was true in China as well. I remember there being a whole conflicting conversation about it
between Cirie and Amanda where Cirie thought it'd be rocks and Amanda thought it'd be fire if there was a tie at 6, so I don't think the castaways
really know for sure.

They definitely don't want any non-f4 ties, which I think is why we will never know until it happens. They need to put the fear of the PROD into people so
they won't have ties. Unlike Big Brother, Survivor just does not have a good mechanism for resolving ties.

I'm pretty sure that the pre-F4 tiebreaker is rocks. The way that Jeff worded his intro to the fire making challenge in Gabon convinces me of this. It was
something like 'As you know, at the final four, the tiebreaker is a fire making challenge.' I hate that it is
though. Why can't it be fire at all even rounds post merge?
So many times at the F6 people have wanted to cause ties but haven't been able to because of the PROD. |

It could just be me here, but the hatred for pre-F4 ties that the Survivor producers seem to have has always baffled me. I mean, as a viewer I personally love
when a tie happens because I think it adds that little extra bit of suspense to things. And personally, a freaking PROD shouldn't scare someone from trying
to get further in the game than if they didn't force a tie. Even more irritating is that supposedly ties have happened that haven't been shown on TV.
Like, apparently in episode 4 of Micronesia the vote went 4 for Mikey, 4 for Chet, and 1 for someone else. I mean....I can't be the only one who
would've wanted to see that to see A. who the third party that got a vote was, and B. who initially voted Chet but then switched to Mikey (I'd assume
either Joel, Natalie, or Erik, but again, we may never know that).

I guess I don't mind that PROD is still the official tie-breaker. Ties aren't dramatically interesting. People having to change their votes to avoid
them gives us more drama. I think if fire were always the tiebreaker we'd end up with a lot more random people making finals.

I was rewatching Africa a lil while ago, and I really liked the idea how former votes counted against them. It was especially interesting in the episode where
Lindsey got voted off because of her old votes - the old Samburus were trying to conceal who had votes and trick the other three new Samburus into voting for
Brandon. It was a lot more interesting than the fuckin PRoD.

Why was that tie planned, Kirblar? I mean...only Kathy had been to Exile Island from Airai up to that point, so it wasn't like there was worry of someone
giving Mikey the idol. Still....a voting breakdown for that one, or any other ties that've happened and not been shown would be sweet to have.
