From a character development standpoint, the 20 person season has given us arguably the worst 'character' seasons ever in Palau, Cook Islands and
Micronesia (from the fans side).

42 days was answered back before Outback even premiered. The official answer was that Burnett thought the first season finale moved too quickly and had too
much going on, so they did three more days and a finale with only one elimination.
One thing I've always wanted to know--at the auction in Outback, what does Elisabeth whisper to Probst that prompts his bug-eyed reaction? |

The official answer was that Burnett thought the first season finale moved too quickly and had too much going on, so they did three more days and a finale with only one elimination. And consequently the most boring "reward challenge" of making those "idols" and then throwing them over the waterfall, ever seen. I would rather watch Candice, Sundra, and Becky sit around and talk about their armpits than that...oh wait. Actually another unanswered question I'd really love to know the truth about was after the Kelly boot in S3, whether it was KimP or Brandon who ultimately refused to rally the Samburus...have heard both versions and everything in between. However pissed anyone was, I don't see how they could have voted so blatantly against their own self-interest.

What the hell ever happened between ShiiAnn and Penny? Those two obviously had deep hatred for each other but we only saw it 20 seconds before ShiiAnn got
booted. Why was there no build up? And we're talking about Thailand here, clearly they didn't choose to show it because too many interesting stuff was
happening at the time. Albeit, in ASS we did kinda realize that ShiiAnn is the most socially inept person to ever play Survivor and that she apparently grates
on the nerves of everyone she comes across.
How come Zoe voted for John the night he got booted? I thought it was an alliance of 5 that blindsided Zoe's alliance of 4, so who clued her in? Why was there no merge buff in Palau? Is it because they thought it was somewhat ridiculous to have a merge tribe that consisted of 90% members of the same pre-merge tribe? Actually another unanswered question I'd really love to know the truth about was after the Kelly boot in S3, whether it was KimP or Brandon who ultimately refused to rally the Samburus...have heard both versions and everything in between. However pissed anyone was, I don't see how they could have voted so blatantly against their own self-interest. I don't know why people are so bothered by this to this day. Brandon screwed them over the last TC, so why the hell would they wanna trust him 3 days later? Yes, in retrospect they should've still tried because it was their only shot at making it to the end. But in the moment, I can kinda understand the logic behind it. People in the early seasons also had this mentality of wanting to see a good people go far, even if it meant ruining their games over it. Same reason why Liz and Rodger never teamed up with Amber to break up Ogakor.

It wasn't really a blindside; Kathy and John have both said that she told him beforehand so he knew what was going on. Zoe latched onto that which was one of the reasons why everybody including Tammy and the General voted her out the next TC. Back in the days when previous votes were tiebreakers, why didn't Probst read Kimmi's vote for Jeff and Silas' vote for Frank? Neither of them mattered in the end but still. |

Back in the days when previous votes were tiebreakers, why didn't Probst read Kimmi's vote for Jeff and Silas' vote for Frank? Neither of them mattered in the end but still. Good point. And let's say those people did find themselves in a tie situation, would Probst say "Oh by the way, that vote I didn't read last time......" Or would it nulified because he didn't actually pull it out? Furthermore, are the castaways told about tie breaker rules? Because I remember a lot of people wanting to avoid a tie because of the purple rock, even though Probst never said it would come down to the purple but they sounded like it was more than an assumption. |

Quiddity wrote:Those are some of my favorite seasons (3 of my top 5 actually). I love it with 20 people, it gives less opportunity for pointless storylines because with so many people, you have to show what's actually going on. Yeah, it's sad when good people (not players, but good people) like Rebecca, Brad, Jenny, etc. get the shaft completely, but I actually like it when that happens because there are of course main characters (Jonathan, Ozzy, Parvati, Yul), those in the middle (Cao Boi, Candice, Nate), and of course those who are not important to the story and probably take a backseat role when they're actually out there. I don't really know what the fuck I'm talking about, but I do love 20-person seasons. They show what really happens. |

Why was there no merge buff in Palau? Is it because they thought it was somewhat ridiculous to have a merge tribe that consisted of 90% members of the same pre-merge tribe? They did make a buff (because you could buy it), and the merged tribe was planned to be green (as could be seen in the buff and the flags at challenges). I guess they just figured it would be cool to say they had done a season with "no merge," and Ulong's defeat gave them that opportunity. |

Did Christy vote for Jenna because she didn't hear Jeff give the new directions? or because she really wanted Jenna to win?

We'll never know unless they show us her voting confessional, which I'm sure would answer this question once and for all (unless she pulled a Zoe).
You'd think that if she did vote for Jenna to win that it'd be very easy for them to prove that by releasing the video, but it's never happened...

I'm curious about the teal balloon floating around camp during the second episode of Amazon, I think Deena was holding it. I also still want to see the
first reward challenge in Borneo....
