But yeah, Coby's excuse for picking a bigger target was dumb. If he wanted to pick an obvious first boot target, he should have picked Wanda.

During Palau, Ian gave up his spot in the final 2 for eternal friendship with Tom and Katie. Does anybody have an update? Are Ian/Tom/Katie still friends. I can't remember hearing anything about them post show and wonder if they show up to the reunion events together, or if Ian is now kicking himself for leaving for friendships that didn't last.

I think I remember Kim saying she picked James for that reason, so I just thought Coby did it too. What would it matter if the two weird people were on the same tribe? Coby was among the more strategic players we've ever seen. He knew that if he and Angie were on the same tribe, they would be assumed to be an alliance and voted off quickly. Without her, he could just work hard, do well in challenges, and not get voted off because Willard and Caryn, at very least, were there before him. I presume he would have hoped to team back up with her at the merge. The one thing about this that makes me go "hmmm" is that when they had a chance to vote someone Immunity on Ulong, he did not vote for Angie, which I would have completely expected. He SHOULD have wanted her to survive Ulong and make the merge. As for why he didn't like Jonathan--we saw in the first episode that he was one of the first to put a target on Jonathan. He probably hated J's arrogant attitude (as demonstrated by his "How DARE I not get picked?!" look). Coby had surely had his life made hell by Jonathan types from middle school on, and he must have loved being in an environment where he got a chance to use his smarts to eject the arrogant jock.

Don't forget the infamous St. Patty's Day Parade where the Koror 5 were seen together, before the show had finished airing. There was quite a bit of speculation about it that boiled down to confirmation of Mercaydeez's spoiler that the Koror 5 (and Koror tribe) would remain together to the end.
