Is Fiji even worth watching? |

Long-time survivor fan and the only season that I ever missed was Fiji. I know it is regarded as being terrible, but I feel obligated to watch it since its the
only season I've missed. So, is worth my time?

NO. HORRIBLE!! Only watch the clips of Lisi falling and Michelle falling.

Edit out the whole season except for the following moments and you'll have the whole season condensed into about 10 minutes...
Jeff's preview at the Cook Islands finale talking about the haves vs. have nots twist. One instant of Yau-Man's brilliance Edgardo blindside Final vote reveal. |

Fiji was awful.
I skipped more than half the season. I just couldn't take it. |

If only to make your own opinion I think you should give it a try. I personally enjoyed it, so why not, if you can?

Besides that, nothing else really unless you want to see where Ozzy learned to stupidly make Yau's fake idol. Besides that, nothing much. Unless you want to feel like shit. Then watch cargate and Boo/Lisi/Alex's jury speeches. |

Skip the entire premerge. Then watch the F9, F6, and finale episodes. That's it.

No. See the whole thing. The trouble with the series is that it has an excess of arseholes. Too many people to hate.
But it does have some cool things going on. If you do find yourself hating it, as said above, move to after the merge with is actually pretty damn good. Despite it's reputation, I found Thailand worth watching too. There are no seasons of Survivor that are a waste. They all have something great in them. |

I'd say skip the first six episodes, but Sylvia's in the first three, and she rocked, so...
Definitely watch the Rocky and Lisi boot episodes if you like hubris (and who doesn't?) Then watch the F9 boot, the F6 boot, and the Final Tribal Council (a much more interesting Jury than Cook Islands). |

Well, it's a lot like Pearl Islands, Palau, China, and Gabon in the sense that one really entertaining tribe gets the crap kicked out of them which makes
it really hard to watch. However, I recently re-watched it and it's great UNTIL the big episode where the merge occurs. After that BIG boot, it's all
dowhill and people are just picked off.
What I truly hated about this season was the Have and Have Nots twist along with the mental, as opposed to physical, Immunity Challenges. |

Yeah the Have/Have Not thing got under my skin. A very bad idea.
Not fun, not entertaining. |

Don't let the hateful people ruin it for you. It is my favorite season so it is just what your taste happens to be. It was considered the best reality TV
show of 2007

Why do people say skip this, skip that? Where's the buildup if you skip episodes? Edgardo's blindside alone wouldn't be as worth it because
there's no characterization beforehand.

OK as one of the only people on here that loved Fiji, I feel obligated.
First off, and I know this is one of the main reasons why people hated this season. The Have-Have Not twist. Which by the way I do think would have happened if Mellisa quit or not. I have no prof of this so if anyone does please let me know. The twist just basically showed us how much, food and comfort can affect you out there. Moto were the fatasses watching it at home and Ravu were the ones on the show that we always say we can do better then. So it added a very interesting dynamic to the show that we never really saw before, successful or not, it worked for proving what they wanted to prove. Because let's face it, it wasn't that the people on Ravu were poor at challenges, because even after the switch Moto still kicked ass. The people. Without a doubt some of the BETTER, couple of early boot people ever. I.E. Sylvia, she stood out and maybe she wasn't exactly a ball of fire but she stood out. Anthony had an interesting story to follow and the nerds like myself could easily relate to him. Liliana...meh ok I'll put her as boring, same as Rita, but only because they never showed her. Lisi, sure she made jury but still an early boot. Perhaps one of my most favorite people to ever be on Survivor was Lisi. She was a crazy unpredictable spazz who really seemed to want to quit for no reason. Plus can any of us really forget "It's so Vicious, it's delicious." Sure all the women get picked off, but It didn't really affect the game. Would you have rather seen Yau-Man or Alex go instead? Then we had not one, but 2 HII's. Hidden at camp made finding them a lot more fun and gave us some funny moments. Like Mookie digging right under Lisi and her being oblivious as to what was happening. This was also the first time that a HII was played. Now ok say Gary did it first in Guatemala and I beg to differ. Him playing the Idol was like him winning immunity, no one could vote for him so it didn't add any OMG to the moment. Eddie getting blindsided was easily one of my favorite moments in the game. The look on the 3 horsemen's faces was priceless. The location was amazing. Fiji is a beautiful Island and that also made it more enjoyable to watch. Now onto the big Yau-Man/Dreamz thing. First off, Yau had that coming. The dude was dumb enough to give away a car, a CAR! Who the hell does that? And then to use it as a bargaining chip in a game for 1,000,000 dollars, are you effin stupid? That truck was not worth 1,000,000. Yau was a stupid overrated character who did nothing but act nerdy and find an Idol...o0o0o, please dude with the clues given to us, a blind man could have found the idol. Dreamz I am SURE would have kept his deal had the game been a final 2. Remember, f3 was just as much a twist to them as it was to Cooks. Dreamz had no idea a f3 was possible and he took that deal thinking he could have one more shot at immunity and then face the jury. You ALL would have done the same thing and don't say otherwise. And anyone who says what Dreamz did was the reason there was no Car reward in China and Micronesia is a dumbass. There was no car reward because there was no sponsor, because the ratings were so low. Now on to Earl as the "obvious" winner. I mean he did something right. He never got one vote against him (except for Rita's throwaway vote). I doubt they could have edited him in a different way to be honest. Maybe if he was an asshole or something. But it's hard to the fact that he was a nice guy out there and never stepped on anyone's toes. How can you edit him any other way.? So blah I'm done rambling. Fiji is the one season that I will watch over and over and never get bored. So yes it is worth a second watch. I urge everyone to actually. |
