Umm(sies), what exactly are electric blankets for? |

Turn the thermostat to 80 and bask in toasty yumminess. Why huddle under a frizzy, scratchy fire hazard?

They're for keeping yourself warm in the bath, try it.

Get a good down comforter. MUCH more comfortable than an electric blanket, and MUCH cheaper than turning the thermostat up.

They are really good for warming up the mattress before you climb into bed. Who wants to climb into a cold bed on a cold winter night? Not me.
I really miss my waterbed in winter. |

I have one. I like to be warm without having to work for it. Homeostasis is so overrated.

Fleece sheets are where it's at. I got a set this fall and the sheets never feel cold when I first get in bed. |

Yeah, back in the day before we got central heat in my house, it would be cold as fuck in my bedroom. I could see my breath for most of winter. So I used my
electric blanket to warm my cold ass bed up up, and then turned it off once I got into bed. Now that I have cetral heat my room gets stuffy as hell and I have
a window cracked and a fan running all winter.

Electric Blankets make me nervous.
I'm ALWAYS cold and wish I could use one but I don't like wearing something that's plugged into the wall receptacle. I'm always afraid it will catch on fire or electrocute me. |

I thought they were solely for old people with back pain and menstruating women.

Are change of life hot flashes equivalent to the feeling you get when you put on an electric blankie?
If so, menopause can't come soon enough for me! |

I've used an electric blanket from September through May every year for the last 30 years, except for the winter I was pregnant.
I have not been electrocuted or started on fire yet. I could not live without my 'lectric blankie." |

We used to have them when we lived in New Zealand and there was no indoor heat (except from the fireplace)
Snuggling under a toasty blanket was bliss! |
