As miles pressed the last key, he smirked, feeling as if he had put NlGHTCRAWLER in his place. However, a strange feeling rumbled deep inside him. That same familiar feeling that he knew would eternally churn in his gut like a ravenous, rusty cog. Pushing himself away from his computer, Miles made his way to the bathroom. As he turned the light on, the buzz from the ceiling vent roared like a thousand hummingbirds. He looked against the glass panel on the wall to see a sad, sad man. The man had nothing: no friends, no family, and surely as hell, no good looks. A frown pulled the man's crusted lips down to his chin.
Miles felt a great sadness for the man. He wanted to reach out and help him, so he tried. As his fingers slowly reached across the chilled room, he saw even more despair in the man's eyes. Suddenly, his fingers bumped against the glass panel, and Miles knew that the man was not a lonely, bitter troll. It was his own reflection. Miles was the sad, ugly man, and now he had to live with that.
