Marry rich and you won't have deal with third rate Aldi's. Life is too short to drink Dr. Thunder.

My insurance covers diflucan, copay is $4. Why on earth would you use OTC crap when you can take one pill?

They also sell coat hangers and mirrors for those of you trying to save by giving yourself an abortion.

So glad that KG has the kind of insurance where she can go to the DR and get a pill for $4. At least under Obama those of us with Pre existing conditions who
can't get insurance will have a chance to choose to go to the dr instead of Dollar Tree for our Yeast infections which we get after paying out the ass for
the last dr visit that got us the antibiotics that caused the fucking thing.
Other good Dollar Tree buys are those aluminum pans to cook your Turkey and dressing. $1 vs $3 at the grocer for the same quality pan. |

a once a month trip to aldi is the way to go, especially if you've got kids/teenagers eating you out of house and home. there's things i won't buy
there, but fuck it, canned corn is canned corn. things like peanut butter and jelly are well worth buying there.
some things there that are suprisingly great; spiral sliced ham marinated pork tenderloin the fit and active line, especially the frozen stuff the frozen struedels and pies |

Sorry brokemom, I didn't realize you were unable to get insurance. That's why I quit working in the healthcare field, I couldn't stand seeing
people unable to get the care/ follow up care they needed. I'm on your side in this.

No problem, KG. My point in the thread was the surprise of finding that particular product for a dollar, and how you really could be frugal if necessary. I
have been around OT long enough to know that what your intent in starting a thread is, and how it actually ends up going can be totally opposite. I just roll
with it. :)

I've stopped ordering $200-300 bottles of wine with dinner and am limiting myself to $150 max, unless there's something really interesting on the wine
list.

Man, I wish dollar stores sold pregnancy tests back when I was a slut. I'd have saved a lot of money on abortions.

Aldi is great for milk and ice cream drumsticks/sandwiches.
I buy in bulk like dmb...teenagers barely chew - they ain't particular about taste. |

dmb154678 wrote: ditto that. made my Aldi's run yesterday for almost all of the above (except the ham) and baking items (Sugar, spices, butter) I'll go to Kroger's for the rest but for $65 at Aldi's I would have gotten half that anywhere else. The downside was dealing with the people who seem to have 7 kids each and allow them to run wild while screaming words in Spanish. |

I can usually do better at our grocery store than the dollar stores. Today's purchase:
Bought 5 laundry detergents and two crackers $38.14 preferred savings - 17.30 coupons - 7.00 paid $13.84 Got back $15 in coupons for next shopping trip and 3% on credit card so in the end I actually made $1.58 and essentially the stuff was free.

Thanks for that deal lost shaker of salt.
Our family uses the same All-HE Free & Clear. We never get the same deals as as out in the midwest (southern CA here). I just checked our ad and saw our Albertsons (Jewel-Osco) has the detergent as 3 for $10, required to spend $29 in a mix and match of stuff, and then get $15 back in coupons. I'm going to check if we have any coupons. 9 for $15 turns out to be cheaper than the big containers we buy at Target, and its even cheaper than the Kirkland brand at Costco. |

Vern: Sylvia, didn't you say you got chicken for 1.79 at the Freshco?
Sylvia: Yes Vern, but it was oy! So awful! All this salsa music playing and funny named things like chipolte. Nobody spoke the english. Feh, I got the 1.79 chicken but you think they had some nice lean pastrami? Nah! Vern: What? Sylvia: Turn up the air conditioner to 80° I'm not cooling you off any more than that, Vern. Vern: What? Sylvia: I'm off to my ma jong game. Pull up your pants, for the love of Abraham! Vern: zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz |
