Probst Goes Off on a Former Player |
Lead | |
|
Question of the Week was "Who do you think stayed in the game too long." Probst doesn't beat around the bush with this one...

Eh, that wasn't really that bad. Probst had a history with Fairplay to begin with, and he was obviously pissed that Fairplay played them and always
intended to go out on his own terms as early as possible.
That answer was a cop-out for Probst anyway. He should have given a real answer instead of someone who lasted one episode and who he obviously has personal issues with. |

I was expecting Jenna Lewis since she ruined ASS and pissed off most of production.

I was expecting him to say Osten or Danielle

I knew it'd be Fairplay, but it was a toss-up between whether Jeff would go for Micronesia ("I told you I didn't want him on in the first place!
Wah wah wah etc.") or PI (where Fairplay actually, you know, lasted a long time).
Interesting to see him acknowledge that not all Survivor fans are crazy about Rupert though. That he gets "hate mail" about Rupert was the only real revelation this week. |

My answer to this question is Chet. If Joel hadn't been so paranoid about Mikey B and agreed to get rid of Chet and then Kathy the next time the Fans lost
(assuming that happened), the Fans might have had a chance.

The thing is... hardcore survivor fans are in a small minority. The majority of fans love Rupert and there's no doubt that he brings the ratings. |

Actually I think the Favorites biggest advantage was their camp. I think they had a bigger disadvantage with their reputations but the Fans weren't that
good fortunately

I thought it was going to be Colby, seing as I read the thread title as "Probst gets off on a former player"
But seriously, that is such a bullshit scapegoat answer. Once again Probst is trying to please the average viewer by telling them what they wanna hear even though it's not really what he thinks. If he were the least bit honest he'd say someone like Lilliana, Rebecca or any random mute mactor from recent seasons. Or like people said Chet, Osten or Janu who wussed out of the competition. I guess we can wait until season 26 and Probst will still deny that the mactors they recruit suck donkey balls. |

The reason that the Fans got into trouble was that Joel decided to sacrifice Chet which led to Tracy and Chet participating in Cirie's plan to blindside Joel and then Tracy and Chet were booted at the next 2 Tribal Councils. If Chet had been booted prior to the swap, things could have gone differently. Also, post swap, Jonathan had started to work with the Fans since the couples alliance + Cirie had gained control of the Favorites tribe. |

I'd say it's a legit answer. There probably aren't too many casual fans who liked the Osten types, so Jeff could have easily said Osten (or
someone similar) without pissing off the casual fans (not that they would watch something like that anyways).
And also, post swap in Micronesia, if Chet doesn't pussy out, then Ami might have flipped on the faves and sent them packing, giving the fans a HUGE opportunity. |

i completely agree with the choice of Rupert. whiny baby. just kept talking about how he was picked on--you know what? if you were picked on, what people
really want to see is a COME BACK-not someone who's gonna whine about it. If I was fairplay I would've tried to get him to hit me so I could send his
ass home.

^Well, I think that's what JFP was trying to get Rupert to do. If it worked, it would probably go down as one of the best moves in survivor history.
Rupert was definitely a good answer. There are plenty of good answers, Denise and Ozzy being the first two that came to my mind, but you can't go wrong with Poopert. |

Denise is the most obvious choice for me

My answer: Stephenie. Ep 1 of Guatemala? Loved her. Ep 3? Liked her. Ep 5? Disliked her. Ep. 7? HATED her. Ep 9? Wanted to strangle her -_- That she lasted
all the way to F2 with such a bad strategy and such utter incompetenance was absurd.

Probst actually gets to spend time with these people, so even the most under-edited player on the screen is probably a pretty decent person in real life, and real life is what he's going on (which is why he hates Jonny). The same kind goes with Chet and Janu. Probst never expected much from them to begin with, so their quitting probably didn't bother him too much (plus, their quites protected two of his favorite players: Ozzy and Stephenie). He's rightly gone off on Osten several times, because he wasn't an elderly gay man or a woman the size of a toothpick, but supposedly the "strong guy" of his season. |

The only winner Jenna Lewis got booted was Tina, and frankly, Tina offered that tribe nothing and bought Rudy an extra round.
