69: Susie & Andy - autowil

- It's weird how...well Susie & Andy did. They survived an altogether odd yield from F&MB, and outlasted far "superior" players, like DDU, Nimber and Crow (albeit their elims were partially due to their own problems). They also tended to end up around the bottom to the pack each leg, bar when they took the FF in England/Monaco that was just...well, the leg's already been mentioned, so that's for another day, I guess. But yeh, they weren't overly good characters but they did well and therefore rank quite highly.

68: Brooke & Ashanti - smileyriley14
Season: Avant Tai, Season Three
Placing: 10th/16th

- Without a doubt, the best smiley team ever. Now, that's not saying much, but Brooke & Ashanti were a nice breath of air from the Serge & Mary catastrophe, and actually were coherent... most of the time. I'd been one of the big smiley haters until Brooke & Ashanti turned up, and I was actually sad in a way to see them go so early on...but they did kind of suck (well, suck apart from their FF winning leg), generally being bottom feeders in every leg. Yet they were oddly entertaining, in terms of being the dumb blonde team.

In other news, I was thinking and realised that no one has ever, to my knowledge, done a 100% intentionally "dumb" team. Josef & Rabi, I'm not too sure on, but I think it'd be awesome if we actually had someone doing a Kelly & Christy/Kami & Karli-esque team.

But yeh, Brooke & Ashanti were a good smiley team, and...yeh.


Oh jesus. This is going to make me unpopular...


67: Vanessa & Jena - nessa6666
Season: Avant Tai, Season Two

- Now, I think it's been made pretty clear in the past that I'm not, by any means, a massive fan of nessa. Saying that, I'm pretty sure people therefore think that I hate nessa. That's not necessarily true; there were times when I did find nessa "funny", as it were. PNG was one example, although to what degree I'm not sure. So what are the problems I have with nessa?

1 - The fans. The fact is, it very much seemed like at times, if you didn't support everything nessa said/did, you were the enemy. I think, to an extent, it was still true, given the ridiculously low rating that *certain* teams got in the survey we did back after ATTAR3 (and the fact the comments specifically stated it was due to the nessa situation). I think that was what started to make ATTAR2 less fun towards the end - the fact that it split in to a nessa fans vs. nessa "haters" game, particularly in reference to Akari & Mira quitting. Oh, and the obscene money that people would give nessa when they were elimmed peeved me too.

2 - The "jokes". I always felt a little odd at times laughing at nessa, because it's hard to toe the line with her disability. A lot of the time, it seemed almost like a pisstake, and I felt really bad about that, because (and here's something that I've not revealed before) my brother has oral dyspraxia, which means that sometimes he struggles speaking. Thankfully, it's got better over time, but it just felt kind of weird doing so.

3 - The whining/ignorance. Again, this is toeing the line, I guess, but there were things that immediately bugged me. Case in point, "smely". Now I could understand if nessa got it wrong the first time, but you have to believe that at some point she would have realised her error and then changed it. I'm pretty sure it was the same with me at one point, and defenitely Kitty...

The whining too got annoying quickly. People would explain things to nessa in relatively simple terms, and she would simply ignore it and continue whining. Again, once or twice I can understand, but it got very tiring, very quickly (and again, I've had to deal with this personally).

4 - The Remote/Nessa situation. Now, I would have had no problem if they had actually said that nessa couldn't be at that leg, and therefore Remote would race as nessa. The final of W&C1, for example, could have seen L5 race under a ghost account as Melanie & Cynthia, because max wasn't sure if he could make it. He did, in the end, but that was fine with me because everyone would have known. But since earlier in the race we had the situation with smiley trying to convince Osten to race unsuccesfully, and smiley then getting a penalty, it felt very weird that nessa kind of...got away with it. And it led to the massive thing with Kitty quitting, and it was a huge mess that kind of just...ruined the end of ATTAR2, in a way. It's why I rank the first 5-6 legs of that race some of the best ever, and everything after that kind of...sour.

So, yeh. There's positives and negatives with nessa. I'm sure that people will "hate" me for this, but it's my own personal view. I encourage people who disagree with this rating to post where they would have nessa and explain their reasons why, because I'll gladly hear them.


As for the next three, ATTAR2 hits twice, while it gets doubled and halved with a sole ATTAR4 team.
