yes.. it's me... and the story i have an update to has to do with my 'romeo' Here's us 21 years ago (1987). taken about 3 months before our parents tried to break us up... so we ran away to arkansas! :D

While we were 'on the lamb', I worked fast food, and he hustled guys at pool.. made some good money for us...
My mother and daughter ran into him in KFC about 6 years ago.. he asked about me.. said he was single and apparently looked pretty good.. sadly, she didn't get his number or give him mine. I thought about how I might get in contact with him.. but kept hitting dead ends.... Fast forward to my birthday this year...... |

When my dad came to see me for my birthday this year, his gf told me she had a special present for me.....
an address and phone number for my romeo. omg... I didn't know if i wanted to randomly just call some phone number... cuz it could have changed since it was recorded... and i certainly wasn't going to just show up on someone's doorstep looking for a guy. so I just kept the inforomation filed away... and did nothing for about 2 months... Until 2 weeks ago. |

I had been looking for a car on craigslist, and noticed the "missed connections" area and decided to give it a looksee....
I still didnt' do anything with the info given to me in july..... but I decided what the hell... I'm going to put a post in the missed connnections section.... I highly doubted getting any response..... The subject read, "Looking for ***** ******" and the text of the msg simply said.. "We took a cross country adventure 20 years ago... I'd love to reconnect." 15 hours later,(2 weeks ago today) I received an email. "I'm guessing this is stacey. This isn't him.. but i'm a friend of his... i'll pass this along" an hour later, I get an email from him.... The first line read, "Hi stacey. We ran away to arkansas on 10/16/87. Which was yesterday. I was just thinking of you"............. O.M.F.G!!!!! |

We immediately made plans to meet up, but due to conflicting schedules (he has a weird job schedule) didn't get to have lunch until 3 days ago...
O.M.F.G!!!!! whoa. a little less hair up top, a little more pudge around the middle.. but DAY-AM! We spent the first 2 hours at the restaraunt just flipping from talking quickly to being speechless at being there..... Then we went back to his house and looked through old photos, and talked more... for like 4 hours!!!!!!! and after 20 years... a lot has changed... whoa... but some things haven't... there's still quite a spark.. :D heh I'm seeing him again tuesday.... I think we'll skip lunch. Yays!!!!! I can't believe after 20 years.... "where for are thou, romeo......." (I do have a photo taken on tuesday, but you have to be one of my facebook friends to see it!!!!) |
