Probst's pick for the Survivor he wished had stayed in the game longer. |

Hey, new question of the week up in the Comcast blog. Looking forward to your thoughts...

So is this why Jeff refuses to acknowledge the Marquesas was an amazing season? Because his precious Gina got voted off?

Jeff hated Marquesas because of all the insects. He bases his assessment of a season on 2 factors: 1) the cushiness of the location 2) how far his "chosen
ones" (i.e. buff alpha males) go in the game. That's why he loved Cook Islands and Exile Island. Male dominated seasons in fairly comfortable locales.

Gina? No way. I was crushed when that huge hunk of man-meat Hunter left too soon!

I loved Gina, but I'm so happy she was voted out before the merge. She might have screwed the underdog alliance over as she hated Sean and Vecepia and
would never have aligned with them.
Either that or we would have been looking at a Kathy, Neleh, Paschal, Gina F4...which wouldn't have been so bad. |

Gina?! Didn't it take like 5 episodes for her to win one damn challenge? And isn't that the record too?

Rocky, Mookie and Anthony were on the losing tribe for every challenge for 6 episodes. Ravu finally won a reward challenge in episode 7 after Anthony was voted out. Anthony sets the record for the person whose tribe lost the most challenges without being on a tribe that won any challenges. |

that's because anthony was a pussy who didn't stand up for himself like a real man, or human for that matter, should learn to do. Why would they even
cast him? He's an underdog that was only cast for the show because he was weak and wouldn't stand up for himself. I almost loved watching him get voted
off as much as Ozzy in FvF. They need to cast "underdogs" who will actually prove themselves and beat out the bully types--like myself.

When I saw the title I would've bet that he would take the easy route and pick someone from ASS or Micronesia or worse, say some awful contestant from a recent season like Rocky or Billy. Gina's not a bad pick, I like her too. But yeah, Jeff never seemed to look past the bugs and boring winner; Marquesas was phenomenal. Limiting it to boots from the first six episodes and trying to keep it to seasons that really could've used a specific player to make it further and keep things entertaining, I would say Robb Zbacnik is probably my #1 pick off the top of my head, since he would've livened up the second half of Thailand for sure. Then again, he had a perfect and complete arc in his 18 days, so it's hard to want to mess with that. |

yeah I liked Gina a lot too. I would've really liked to see Linda from africa go further--just because she was fucking crazy.

Gina was my favorite the first time I watched that season but over the years I grew to like her a lot less. She had no game and didn't even make an effort
to stay. Kathy said that she expected Gina to come to her and try to force a tie to break up Paschal/Neleh but Kathy said that Gina didn't want to even
talk about the vote.
I thought that Probst was going to pick Mike Skupin. |

I remember being so sad when she was voted out. Gina was really likeable and I hated that she got voted out. Then again, I didn't want to see Neleh,
Paschal, or Kathy go either so it had to happen.
Then again, we might have never saw the overthrow of the Rotu 4 if Gina stayed. So it was probably a good thing she left. |

Gina was a fucking cunt. All the bitch ever did was complain about Hunter being voted off.

I liked Gina just fine but I was relieved when she got voted off. It was either her or Kathy that night. Kathy may be my favorite Survivor contestant of all
time to this very day. I'm sorry she had to go so early - she seemed like a nice girl with a good head on her shoulders - but so be it. Jonathan and Wanda?
I agree that twist was brutal. I'm not happy they did it. But neither one of them would be remembered positively today if they'd lasted.
Several people come to mind; but off hand I'd actually have to pick John Raymond. The idea was immediately compelling: An old school Southern preacher with great outdoors skills who didn't have a problem slitting throats for a million dollars. He could have been an All Star easily. The person the tribe kept, Ghandia, was a disaster, and Thailand went on to become the first 'bad' Survivor season. If John had stuck around as a rival to Brian and Helen, the series might not have been bad, and the show might have even capitalized on the popularity of Amazon and the Pearl Islands to extend Survivor's Golden Age to seven seasons instead of four. Other Picks 1. Peter, Marquesas - He was a star. 2. Angie, Palau - A lovable underdog who got screwed by the uneven tribes. To think that she went and people like Janu and Gregg stayed? Painful. 3. Jeff Varner, The Australian Outback - So fun, such good TV. Went way too soon. 4. Marylin, The Australian Outback - One of a kind. 5. Elisabeth, All Stars - Got booted by the baby doctors. Would have been fascinating to see the transformed older, political, maternal Elisabeth compete. 6. Jonathan, Micronesia - Saw Parvati's win coming and was helpless to stop it because of really rotten luck. The last person who'd deserve to go down like that. 7. Amy, Guatemala - Again, good player and character hurt by a bad tribe. |

He picked a woman? Oh my God! Like everyone else I thought he'd say some alpha male that got booted pre-merge. Gina was very likeable but she sucked
strategically. She would never have helped overthrow the Rotu 4 and probably would have settled for 7th place if it meant outlasting Rob, Sean and V.

Gina lasted twice as long as she should have. She should have been booted in episode 3 but the idiots voted out Hunter instead.

He hated Marquesas because the star of that season was a middle-age woman, which is Probst's most hated demo. And the only male breakout stars (Sean, Rob)
didn't fit in his golden boy alpha male mold that he likes so much.
Oh yeah, and Hunter leaving early of course. That being said, I can't see the video, anyone wanna break it down for me. And why is this in Survivor 18+ ? |

5. Elisabeth, All Stars - Got booted by the baby doctors. Would have been fascinating to see the transformed older, political, maternal Elisabeth compete. Huh?? |
