Awful, Awful Episode |
Lead | |
|
What's with so many people thinking this leg was great? You knew who was going him within the first ten minutes which killed all suspense, the detour was
at a cool location but was boring to watch and had no impact on the leg, the roadblock was complete trash, the police part that was hyped in the previews
lasted 10 seconds, almost no interaction between teams besides the meaningless Dallas and Kelly/christ arguement, and overall was just dull. Even the boat
breaking down wasn't exciting because you knew there would be no consequence. The only decent parts were the location itself, Dan and Andrew being retards
at the gas thing, and Kelly/Christy's reaction to fifth.

blah blah blah is all I see in your initial post.
Angkor Wot made this episode. Sry. It rocked. |

This season suffers because no teams have had REAL trouble with a task ala many of the meltdown teams of the past. Dan/Andrew and Kelly/Christy bumble around a
lot, but their mistakes usually aren't enough to liven up an episode. Overall, I'm really enjoying this season, but the real "drama" that
circles many of the interesting teams is missing this season, unfortunately.

The locations were cool, but there was nothing interesting happening at the locations, which is far more important.

I thought the Angkor Wat thing was cool. Nobody really stands out this season, but I think I'd like the mother and son team to win.

The tasks are way to easy.... They need to make the tasks more complex.

The only problem in this leg was that you knew Aja & Ty were screwed the moment we knew they were the only ones on that last flight. Other then that I
thought it was okay

Remember Freddy having to heat spicy soup that he puked in? Classic. Or the Ostrich eggs. We need more food stuff!! Maybe it's a sign that they are casting less psychos, but where the hell are the meltdowns? I can't even think of who in this cast would lose their mind a la "no camel milk" girl and that chick who flipped out when she was pelted with tomatoes. Perhaps they just need a little less sleep and some more rigorous tasks. On previous seasons there have been legs where people look like they would quit right then and there as a result of a brutal day. So far this season has been too easy. |

I personally find this season kinda boring so far even the villains aren't hate-worthy, they're just annoying, plus no really awesome teams to love. and this leg did suck because Aja and Ty pretty much killed any real suspense, the whole race part felt very meaningless. |

The roadblock could have been cooler if they were not allowed to ask for directions. And I agree, the locations were cool but the tasks were just meh. |

In the short-run, this was a great episode, with lots of position-changing, breakdowns and great scenery.
In the long-run, it was yet another episode where the last place team is in last for 99% of the episode (Mark/Bill being the only boot who started the leg in front) - and only two teams having gotten first place over five legs. There's never been a season this predictable before - all the eliminated teams but the nerds finished 11th, 10th, 9th and 8th in the first episode and were eliminated in that order (with the nerds in the middle). If Andrew/Dan and Kelly/Christy go next this'll start to be a joke. Where are the eating challenges? Those offer some of the best TAR moments. Remember Freddy having to heat spicy soup that he puked in? Classic. Or the Ostrich eggs. We need more food stuff!!Eating challenges are insanely repetitive - the TAR10 and TAR11 ones were terrible. Vomiting isn't good TV. |

Angkor Wat was completely wasted- though they might do something with it next episode.
Clay tablets lined up in an echo chamber? WTF? Those cheap-ass producers should have had a room with hundreds of chanting, saffron-robed bald guys- with the teams looking for weird stuff hidden away. |

I have said this before and I will say it again,
Every task on every leg should have a local animal involved. |
