BB10 was a success? I thought it only had marginally more viewers than BB9 but 20% less than BB8. By that logic I'd think there would be a greater change of Grodner doing another prior connection twist... which sucks.

CBS gave Grodner the gag order during BB9, if they didn't clean up the show they would cancel it. BB10 was a very viewer-friendly season, received approval from CBS and an automatic renewal for 11. I think Grodner will play her cards right and do strangers again, since she knows bringing in people with past histories turns it into a season long Murray episode, and people with substance and not people like Matty or Natalie who had nothing interesting happen in their lives. I could probably run down the BB10 cast list and figure out something really unique about each of them, BB9 the only one that had an actual interesting background was probably Alison with her cardshark/gambling history. The rest were trash and cast for being trash.
