My dog sleeps with me so she's always there first thing when I wake up, and yes, I greet her. But not by licking her face, the way she greets me. I also say goodbye (and tell her where I'm going) when I leave the house, and I greet her when I come back home.

I come downstairs every morning and find my dog belly up on the sofa. I always say, "Mornin', Miss Babe," and kiss her on the side of her face.
Then I tell the cats to get the fuck outta here and go take my shower. |

It's getting cold so my morning greeting has turned from "Who wants go outside?" (in appropriate baby voice) into "Wanna eat? Anyone want to
eat?" It's the only thing that gets my 3 dogs outta bed.

She attaches herself to my shoulder and buries her head in my locks. We walk around that way like inter-species Siamese twins for about 20 minutes. Maine Coons are rather demonstrative. |

My dog sleeps on her dog bed at the foot of our bed.
We have the same routine most every day. I get up and take my vitamins. I walk over to her and whisper (it's 5) "Come on Amber get up" -- she does nothing. I go downstairs and start coffee, then stand at the bottom of the stairs and whistle for her to come down. She does nothing. I pour coffee and repeat the whistling. She finally comes downstairs, I let her out. She does her business and then gets the newspapers. She has a treat and then body slams herself against the back slider to be let back in and go to bed. I have her leash with me every morning and ask her accompany me on a run -- 9 times out of 10 she declines. BTW Calliou is painful to watch not quite as bad as Maisy but very close. |
