I think it is everything that is wrong with Survivor. I hate the idea that there's this quote-unquote secret society of fake celebrities who think they
are big shots and all the desperate fans want to jerk off to. I have always felt that people on reality shows should get their 15 minutes of fame, enjoy it,
and move on. The "Survivor alumnus community" ruined the first All-Stars (with all the pre game alliances and Rob and Amber romance and shit), they
became big pains in the asses with all their lobbying and negotiations for the second All-Stars, and I am sick of the whole god damn idea that a person can
turn "ex reality star" into a career. I hate the idea that Rob Cesternino could make a movie featuring "your favorite reality stars", and
people would watch not only the movie, but they would also watch a TV show documenting how it was made. I hate the fact that a Jonny Fairplay even exists. I
hate the fact that people would care about a Jenna Lewis sex tape, or even care who the fuck Jenna Lewis is. I think this whole subject entails everything
that is wrong and ridiculous (fake celebrities, celebrating mediocrity, "anyone can be famous") with the entertainment industry. I want my Survivors
to be like Rodger Bingham. Go on the show, do your work, and go home. Then quietly watch the next one on TV. Be like Nick Brown. Move on with your life.
Do something more important. I don't want to hear from you again.
Other than that, I have no problem with it. :) |

Agree with your rant, except I don't have a problem with some people going to one charity event a year or something like that. I know Gervase and Ramona
have both moved on a long time ago and arn't trying to be anything close to media whores, so they get a pass for going to the Survivor alumni dodgeball.
Same thing for Helen if she happened to stumble on this site and, you know, post here.

With real celebrities, there's a chance they might do something again. Like Brad Pitt, for instance. There's a SLIGHT chance that he could star in
another movie someday, and draw in millions of dollars, thus earning his celebrity.
How much of a chance is there that Parvati will do something famous again? There's your difference. |

Helen will always remain in our hearts as one of the greatest Survivor women that ever graced our screens. Too bad she wasn't selected for ASS

There's nothing that makes them worthy, but people have been caring about celebrities for years through current events and that crap. Actors and singers at
least have proven that they can do something else from their profession and all the acting classes they had to take. Reality TV contestants, on the other hand,
are random people who were just lucky enough to be thrown into a game with a shot at a million bucks. That's the same reason the media always bashes
reality TV in general.

On the home front, Glover is used to political disagreement. She leans to the right; her husband leans to the left.Didn't her husband warn her not to trust Brian on the family visit? Helen should listen to him more, lol. |

Ha ha. I'll bash the idea of a Survivor alum community, and I'll bash the idea that Survivors are celebrities Then you should be glad Amber and Parvati won ASS, because they both were outsiders who defeated the alumni in-crowd. Parv never has attended Survivor
alumni events and was especially at a disadvntage. I don't say that make her more virtuous, but by your criteria it should.
PS: I think a "Survivoir alumni community arises because the players have shared a quasi-battlefield experience in the game (the deprivation, the competuition, the bonding), and then shared the experience of sudden fame and loss pf privacy. Ha, I know people who went on memorable European trips together who have periodic reunions for years afterwards.

Really, I think the concept of "real celebrities" is BS. Why should actors be celebrities and not Paris Hilton or Fairplay? Once upon a time, actresses were looked down upon as little better than prostitutes. And business people make more money than them, and scientists and doctors contribute more to society.Agreed 100%. None of them deserve the fame. I'll never understand why so many people gush over an actor that they'll never meet. |

Even if Parvati didn't go to events and stuff, she still had 2 others from CI who she knew well. (Not taking anything away from her win, just pointing it
out.)

Parv had her arch-enemy from S13, who tried to make her the first boot.
And Ozzy wasn't a huge strategic asset in terms of bringing in allies. Their friendship made her a target early on because he was a physical threat, and his popularity meant she either had to lose to him or burn a jury vote. |

If there are a group of Survivor contestents who like to circle jerk each other and all of that, what's wrong with it? Like Fairplay said, all the ludicrous things he does is all a big act, and it gives him more time to spend with his daughter. I don't think that any ex castaway honestly believes that they are famous or will get anywhere with the show. I think you are being too hard. Craig knows the score. I haven't had time to see this video, I love it! I always liked Helen and wanted her to be on All Stars so hard. Clay too. Thailand was, and continues to be, awfully misrepresented. |

Here are Helen's two entries that made the Funny 115. (Are there anymore that were just about her, Mario?)

Off the top of my head, no I don't think so. But she does show up quite often in most of the Thailand moments. I know she's in Clay's entry and
in Jan's bat funeral entry.
Helen definitely should have been in All-Stars. She was dying to go, too. It was a shame they didn't pick her. |

I started watching wrestling because of Ashley M, for example I kinda agree though, I see your point. I've always thought that the networks should team up for some sort of show called "Back to Reality". Like the Real World challenge only with people from all reality shows ever. The cast would probably end up sucking though... |
