NOIS, I've been using raspberry vodka for my white chocolate raspberry martinis but vanilla sounds wonderful. I do have to replenish my Godiva liqueur
before the weekend, I'll pick some up then.

I've had wine tasting parties, but I never thought about a vodka tasting party...sounds like fun! Here's an article about the 50 best vodka's from
the 'wine detective' and how they conducted their vodka tasting and ratings:
http://www.thefiftybest.c...wine_detective/vodka.html I might even look for the #1 rated "Russian Standard Vodka". |

That's a different brand than I know donbrasco. I'm not sure, but "Zubrowka" might just be Polish for bison or grass, and not the brand name.
So I can't be held responsible for that one

I have yet to find a flavoured vodka that does not make me sick. I like Finlandia. I don't have dignified enough taste buds to buy luxury vodkas.

There are NO decent flavored vodkas. Not one. Don't be fooled. Just avoid them.

The one thing about Smirnoff and Grey Goose is that I can go out and get HAMMERED on either one of them and then be fully functional the next morning with
little or no hangover.
Beer...not so much. |

I totally agree. Absolutely no hangover/headache the next day.
Voddy can go either way with people. A few of my friends don't touch the stuff because they'll end up blacked out in a gutter. Only tequila has ever got me that fucked up. |

Ciroc. It is a wee bit different (made from grapes) but heaven. Right up there with Ketel One.

The bottom line: Pour the best high-end vodkas on the rocks, or drink them straight up or in a martini. Save the lower-end brands for mixing. A Grey Goose martini may be rakishly slick and persistent, but a Grey Goose Bloody Mary is a waste of both money and vodka: Reach for the Smirnoff instead. Unless, of course, there's some sexy young thing making eyes at you from the end of the bar. Then you want to point to the vodka that gives you the best chance of seeming tanned, toned, witty and elegant. But which one? There are so many Don't take too long to make your choice, or she'll be gone. |

PagongSchlong wrote: I'm in the same boat. I actually find beer and rum to be the worst as far as sickness and hangovers. Last time I rapidly drank about a 1/3 a 26 of vodka which managed to make me black out large portions of the night, but I woke up without a hangover and experienced no nausea during the evening. I don't particular like the way it tastes, but it just gets along with my body like nothing else. |
