The first episode for the series was already shot in New York under the working title "Nurse Jackie."
And while Showtime has yet to officially add the series to its lineup, a recent announcement - naming the entire cast - all-but-assures Falco's new show will make it onto the air some time next year.
Viewers will be surprised when they see Falco in her new role. Her hair has been severely chopped and it seems the show's creators are stretching for a much different look than she had as Jersey mob housewife Carmella in "The Sopranos."
Falco's character is said to have a weakness for drugs, which help her deal on an emotional level with her nursing work in the ER.
