This was a very intense leg! I don't know if we've had so many placement changes and people finishing so close to each other in awhile

This episode reminded me of the first Swiss leg in TAR3 - slow-paced and yet intense all the way to the pitstop.
Of course, altitude sickness and constant walking were factors in both legs. |

I thought that altitude factor added a novel dimension to the race

The more I think about it, the more I realize I LOVE TAR9. With the exception of Dani/Danielle and Eric/Jeremy, all the teams were fun, the locations were ALL great, and the challenges were pretty nice, too, with the obvious exception of the gnomes.TAR9 <3 (though replace Eric/Jeremy with Fran/Barry. They were the only two teams that really doomed it) That being said, it appears that they ramped up the bunching at the end of the season. 3 equalizers in Greece (train, flight, Agora) and Darwin (Swan Bells, flight, Crocodile Park). A mid-leg bunch in Fremantle and Tokyo. A fairly long bus ride in Bangkok. You really need bunching in the second half of the season since there's so few teams. Without it, there wouldn't be very much inter-team interaction - even TAR9-haters could probably agree the Australia legs were better than the ridiculously spaced-out and dull Finland-Ukraine legs the following season. |

Oh, I disagree about the Fran/Barry part. One of my three favorite teams, along with Dave/Lori and Ray/Yolanda. They kicked ass in Oman!!! =P
I really don't dislike Eric/Jeremy or Dani/Danielle. I just hate what they did to TARAS. If Jeremy wouldn't have imploded upon himself and got all nastyfat, I would've enjoyed it more. |
