(I should probably point out that, as I write this, I just got home from a day of working and I'm really hungry. So, if I have an edge or if my thoughts drift, blame lack of food.) Kota loses an IC? THAT would be a surprise. Of course, they could throw one to get rid of Dan. In the Insider, Charlie discusses how much he doesn't like Dan and doesn't trust him. I also want to reference something that got eaten by Yuku. I posted a BIG reaction to reading Charlie's interview that was heavily featured in the Advocate, the national gay magazine. Everyone should check that interview out. He sounds quite sad in it and the interview keeps emphasizing "Charlie is single." "Charlie is alone." He also looks VERY thin in the pictures that seem to have been taken not too long after his return. So he's out there for a long time. And he said he had a strategy, which was to be "The Gay Cirie." Well, right there that tells you he only finishes where she did, which was F4, then F3. Which may be where Charlie ends up. And he's certainly not the winner because SEEBS would NEVER allow their potential million dollar baby to be seen in an in-depth large interview. Was it a cover story? If he was the winner, this interview would not have been allowed by them. Did we ever see ANYthing on Parvati last season? I mean, pre-show, like this interview was. Or Earl? Or other winners? Only that St. Patrick's Day Massacre pics & sighting of the Koror Five in NYC. So this interview kicks Charlie out of the winner's spot, but then why allow it? To ignite the gay fan-base that is now his- that "Tune In! This season's gonna get VERY gay! You're gonad love it!" Also, Charlie's rich. A highly paid lawyer at one of the leading NYC law firms. Of course, he could've just lost it all in this Ecomomic Meltdown. But at the time of the taping, he was not needing all that dough. Also, he's a friend of Eliza's. Maybe a close-friend. And she only got to F4, also. Like Cirie. He also says that people hook up and get involved and emotional and that's not the game he's going to play. Well, d'oh! He certainly didn't hold true to that Survivor tenet. (sp?) He also complained of all the back-stabbing and lying, etc. etc. that he experienced, which we haven't seen anything of yet at Kota. So=analysis= That plus his weight loss means he lasts far into the game, maybe even to the F4, I think. But he doesn't win. Now back to our regularly scheduled Jeff Probst-as-an-author-bashing. I'm thinking he's a finalist, but that he in no way has the votes to win at the end because of his relationship with Marcus. Much like Amanda had issues in the last 2 seasons because she was seens as Aaron/Todd/Ozzy/Parv's tag-along.

And he also kept saying over and over that he was always being compared to Todd. And he "didn't want to be Todd" who WON. Another admission that he, like his idol Cirie, didn't win. He's not like Todd, cuz he didn't win. Mr. Subliminal at work here. He also had to return to work THE NEXT DAY he got back. Again implying he was in Loser Lodge long enough to gain some of his strength back to once again become a high-powered New York lawyer. I think also he was talking about Fiji Cirie, not her latest, more devious incarnation. The kinder, caring Cirie. And he IS being portrayed like that. Very positively.

I agree that Charlie's post-season interviews probably disqualify him from winning, which I am now wondering if it is Marcus vs. somebody. They certainly are working hard for their gay audience. They could have easily left Marcus eating food off of Charlie's shoulder on the cutting room floor if they wanted.

This actually indicates something else- that Charlie, or his alliance, is the victim of a blindside at some point in the game. Methinks Marcus will be this season's shock boot. There's more to it than just a hunch. We've seen a lot of indications that this season's endgame is not a pagonging, and has alliance flip-flops. In every flippy-floppy endgame season (Amazon, PI), guys like Marcus get taken out first when their ruling alliance is overthrown. When someone says they want to emulate gameplay, that doesn't mean they will leave the game in the exact same place. I don't think Charlie's going to win, but I also don't see how saying he didn't want to be the new Todd means he won't win. I believe (can't remember now, so I might be wrong) Todd made a comment to the effect that he didn't see Richard Hatch as the greatest image for gay men. Yet Todd and Richard both won. We don't have a lot of insight into his personality this season- he's a caricature, with a weird, negative relationship with Charlie. I wouldn't say the relationship is painted as negative. More like somewhat odd, and sometimes pathetic, but something they felt they had to show for storyline purposes. It does suggest any position he will have in the game will be about Marcus (as you said, maybe losing to Marcus in F3), unless we ever get to see something else about him soon. He also says that people hook up and get involved and emotional and that's not the game he's going to play. This is one of the reasons I don't take the interview overly seriously as analytical gold. He said in the interview (which wasn't a cover story) that he had an advantage over straight players because there were no other gay players he might have some type of relationship with. Yet, from the very first episode, we saw that he had feeings for one of the other players. If Charlie did have any hard feelings towards Marcus or towards Corinne (who seem to be his closest allies in the game), he got over them, because he seems to still be hanging out with them now.

Shows what I know. Maybe Jacquie was more entertaining than I gave her credit for! My bad. No, it's just that Jacquie was athletic and a good social player with a positive attitude, and she got totally screwed over in the switch. But rather than saying that in his blog last week, Probst has to add insult to injury: "She was boring, no great loss."

You're gonad love it!" re: sad - People who I spoke to that were with Charlie, shortly after his return, say that he was optimistic and confident. (They did not know if he won, but they figured he went far by his demeanor.) He is not in a relationship, but he has plenty of friends. He may be single, but he doesn't seem lonely; he has an active social life. re: Todd - casting didn't want him to be a Todd clone. Charlie knows and likes Todd. But, if he was a clone, he would be a threat to repeat Todd's performance, so nobody wanted the others to make that connection. re: thin - I've seen a topless picture of him in August, and he is thin, however, he started out thin and his tribe is eating well. Personally, I didn't notice him as thinnER, despite the fact that I believe he goes far. re: interviews by other winners - Todd had a cover story interview that called him a "Million Dollar Man" that came out several weeks before the Finale. That was kinda the icing on the "Amanda wins" cake... because they wouldn't "out" the winner, would they? so now you say that the clue is about marcus or charlie? one of them wins? I'm quoting SP because these people, including Jeff, are everywhere talking. However, that being said, I don't know if Marcus and Charlie are in the F3; I just know that they are still friends (as is Corinne)... so, either they were loyal to each other, or they got over a betrayal. lol, not too helpful, I know.

Jeff should stick to hosting and give up writing. Jeff's Blog - Episode 6 First off, let me just say that this will be short. No reason. Just not a lot to say this week. It happens. You'll see. One day it will happen to you too. No cause for alarm. It's not any physical abnormality. It just happens sometimes. Deal with it. I am. Okay, can we start with what is becoming my favorite story line…Sugar going to Exile Island. The best part is that while they think they are punishing her, little do they know she is living it up, eating better than anyone, and she misses out on all the camp chores. Camp life can really suck. Not for Sugar. Didn't I tell you you'd be rooting for her. Admit it. You are. You can't help it. Yes, she cries a lot, but she's growing on you. Admit it. She is. Then there's Ace…was he a challenge hog trying to raise that flag all by himself? You know, like Kobe Bryant of the Lakers who never passes to anybody. Or was he just doing what any savvy person would do when confronted with the fact that his tribe still sucks and if he waited on them to contribute he'd still be there. Personally, I say taking matters into his own hands was the right move in that challenge. Dude's playing for a million dollars. Trusting Ace however is a whole 'nother ball game. Sugar seems to trust him but I'm guessing you don't. Admit it. You don't. I wouldn't either. It's that damn accent. Here's something you can trust, I'm gonna find out at the Reunion Show if the accent is real or not. Gotta talk about the turtle. Here's the deal…my friend Sean is a hunter. My cousin Darren is a hunter. Sarah Palin is a hunter. A lot of my friends are hunters. I'm not. Neither is Sheetal, for the record. In fact, she really doesn't like hunters much at all. So, she pretty much hates the entire Kota tribe for killing the turtle. She thinks they had plenty of rice so why kill a "perfectly harmless minding-his-own-business" turtle. I tell her I don't know, ask Gov. Palin. By the way, VOTE Nov. 4th. Now let's deal with Kelly. I miss her already. I won't say it, but admit it, you do too. She's cute. Sure she's young and has a lot to learn and a lot of life to live. But so do you, so get off your damn soapbox and cut her a break. She did her best. She should be proud. That's it.
