Happy thanksgiving, Canookians! Do you eat the same things as us, or do you have specialty dishes... like moose pie and polar bear surprise?

I'm gonna put that turkey whole in my mouth and spit out the bones at the family members. JAKOB I CAN ONLY SEARCH NEW BRUNSWICK RECORDS. No fairsies. |

Actually Canookian T-Giving is better than American T-Giving because with American T-Giving you have to deal with all the same assholes exactly one month later
at X-mas. October T-Giving leaves a little buffer zone....

Actually, ours is better. The little time between holidays just makes it that much easier to remain in an alcohol induced stupor.

Pffft, Jakob. That reminds me, I can't wait to sink my teeth into my MIL's homemade dinner rolls.

I agree with dhc. Our thanksgiving is too early and the American's is too late. The weekend after Halloween sounds about right.

IMPORTANT QUESTION
How many of you use Summer Savoury in your dressing? First time I cooked a turkey after moving out west, I went searching for it and nobody knew what it was. =O What a frigging time I had finding it. Dressing is not dressing without it. And all of y'all can take your "sage" and shove it in advance. |

I believe a week long Newf Lifestyle Holiday would be best in Mid October.
I believe we know too little about the cultural specifics of newfs. The 12 hour naps, worshiping of swish. Salt Beef, and... um... we can skip the sister sex, though. |

Summer Savoury? I read that as Stouffers.

I have seen the Newf lifestyle you speak of.
Let it go. It's not what you think. |

Townies don't see it. Baymen live it everyday.
Their homeland may be Bay Wobberts. (Bay Roberts to the mainlanders) |

I never had Sage growing up, my Mother had bags of Summer Savory sent packed to us in Toronto like BC Weed. My father thought Sage tasted like shit. Definitely a NS thing.Sage has no flavour and ain't EVEN in the same ballpark. Ima stock up on the stuff when I fly down next week. That and green tomato chow chow. LOVE that on potatoes but nobody's heard of it up here either. |

That and green tomato chow chow. LOVE that on potatoes but nobody's heard of it up here either. Oh hell yeah! It's either Chow-Chow or mustard pickles. Not those shit ones you buy in the store either. The real stuff you buy at the local Farmers Market. |
