FTO doesn't hate black people. He just hates the fact that his mean boss and Obama are both black.

FTO embarrassing himself <3
Affirmative action sucks in some cases but is necessary in others. People who whine about it often could have worked harder to buck the system. Get over it. It's extremely annoying when Obama supporters randomly play the race card though. It outed a possible racist in this case, but still. There are some people who won't vote for Obama because he's black. There are also people who are voting for him because he's black, including white people who don't realize they're being racist when they're mesmerized by an eloquent black man because he's an eloquent black man. Both suck, but can't really be avoided. While on the subject, am I a terrible racist too if I say Obama's trailblazing (likely) presidency is somewhat cheapened by the fact that he doesn't have any slave ancestry or even connections to the civil rights movement of the 60s? He didn't face the hardships, or grow up around hardly any semblance of black culture at all. It's still progress, but not really the whole enchilada yet. This article (by a black woman) kinda sums it up: http://www.salon.com/opin...feature/2007/01/22/obama/

hey, candi, "the same thing he offers all americans" conveniently ignores your post where you said obama offers less to white people than black.
still oh so curious about your logic there. please do expand: what does obama offer black people that he doesn't white people?

Aside from being in same continent, they have nothing in commons. Kenyans HATES to be called Nigerians. In all due respects, I wish Obama take more Tiger Wood approach to racial acceptance rather than acting as if he knows his father better than his own mother. He made very little mentions of his Asian(?) stepfather. I don't even know what his half-siblings look like. He is almost like he is trying to show us that he is born and raised in Chicago. IF you are not sure of yourself, you should not be running for the office.

I think that the republicans have waited to really exploit the Ayers connection so that it doesn't go stale before the election. But with early voting
it's soon going to have to be used. Ayers in indisputably a domestic terrorist who started an organization that was responsible for the murder of police
officers and others. He raised the child of a member who helped to kill 2 cops and a security guard. Obama has had no problem working with him on a couple of
different projects. This isn't a case of someone doing wrong after Obama worked with him, as some really stupid people here have tried to portray, Ayers is
domestic terrorist and Obama knows it and he's worked with him anyway.

The truth is more powerful than your smears John McCain. Message to McCain: Don't. Fuck.With.Barack. He is about to hand your ass to you..........
Exclusive: Obama to preempt McCain assault By MIKE ALLEN | 10/4/08 10:07 PM EDT Text Size: McCain officials said they planned to begin advertising tying Obama to Rezko and Ayers. Branding his opponent as "erratic in a crisis," Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) is preempting plans by Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) to portray him as having sinister connections to controversial Chicagoans. Obama officials call it political jujitsu - turning the attacks back on the attacker. McCain officials had said early in the weekend that they plan to begin advertising after Tuesday's debate that will tie Obama to convicted money launderer Tony Rezko and former Weathermen radical William Ayers. But Obama isn't waiting to respond. His campaign is going up Monday on national cable stations with a scathing ad saying: "Three quarters of a million jobs lost this year. Our financial system in turmoil. And John McCain? Erratic in a crisis. Out of touch on the economy. No wonder his campaign wants to change the subject. "Turn the page on the financial crisis by launching dishonorable, dishonest 'assaults' against Barack Obama. Struggling families can't turn the page on this economy, and we can't afford another president who is this out of touch." Then Obama says: "I'm Barack Obama and I approved this message." McCain officials told Politico that the new offensive is likely to focus on Rezko and Ayers. The officials said the campaign will not bring up the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Obama's former pastor, because McCain has forbade them from using that as a weapon. Without being specific, the officials said outside groups may focus on Wright. When word of the planned attacks leaked Saturday, Obama officials said within hours that it was an attempt by McCain to distract voters from the economy. "We think the McCain campaign made a huge error by telling the press that their strategy was to distract from the most important issue facing voters," a senior Obama official said. "Every attack going forward will be easy to characterize for what it is - an attempt to distract from the Bush-McCain economic record." McCain spokesman Tucker Bounds hinted at the tough new line Saturday on "Fox & Friends." "There are associations that are important to who Barack Obama is as a candidate, who he'd be as president," Bounds said. Obama-Biden communications director Dan Pfeiffer said about the new ads: "If John McCain thinks he can 'turn the page' on the economic crisis facing American families, he is even more out of touch than we imagined. Now there may be no good answers for John McCain due to his erratic response to the financial crisis, but his desire to avoid discussing the economy is something we will remind voters of everyday for the next month." http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1008/14283.html |

How is that a bad thing? Personally, I think it is great to enter the political office free of bitterness yet full of awareness.

It's not bad. He just spent the majority of the first half of his life in Hawaiian suburbs and campuses of prestigious universities. Not really overcoming
as much as some people would like to believe.

He didn't face the hardships, or grow up around hardly any semblance of black culture at all. It's still progress, but not really the whole enchilada yet. I don't think you're a terrible racist for saying this, but I simply disagree that Obama not having slave ancestry or a personal friendship with Martin Luther King, Jr. cheapens the trailblazing nature of his presidency or automatically offers less for blacks than if America was potentially electing a nutjob like Alan Keyes, a fraud like Al Sharpton or a buffoon like Flavor Flav... just because they have slave ancestry and Obama doesn't. I guess it certainly offers less for blacks who are seeking reparations from the government as Obama being elected president I would imagine would close the book on that idea for good and I also predict Obama being elected president will likely end race-based affirmative action within the next 10 years. But if he actually succeeds as president and if he and Michelle's "Cosby Show" life in Chicago is real and brought to the White House, I think it will be the most trailblazing and positive catalyst for change in the black community since what MLK did in the 60s if only for the example he sets and symbolism he offers. If that makes ME a white racist for saying this, so be it. |
