There are 2 males to a team but the frat boys and then the older/unathletic men aren't exactly ringers. I love that the athletic men that are on the race are paired with women making the race a lot more fair and not as predictable and eye roll worthy when the usual Mactor Team takes the race.

I was watching them all take off from the starting line and thought the same thing. Although the brother/sister team seem pretty athletic. Hopefully, there won't be too much of an advantage.

I'd take pretty much any alpha team except Reichen/Chip over Anthony/Stephanie. Men haven't dominated the race since TAR9.

People tend to immediately go "ALPHAS BAD", when they really only dominated in TAR4 and TAR9 (producing only 4-5 winners, depending on whether you call the Hippies alphas, which I still think is pretty stupid) - the couple-heavy nature of the casting ruined TAR6-7 and is far more annoying than the Alpha Males since the producers at least occasionally scale back the number they cast. And most would agree the Druggies are still better winners than either/both Eric/Danielle or TK/Rachel, both young dating couples.

(And I liked Bama mostly because they were underdogs - did anyone really expect them to make it past leg 2?) At least the Maddicts' travesty of a win granted us several seasons of no alpha male teams, and hopefully many more to come.

I like that that isn't even an option.

If they were actually wanting a female/female to win, they'd put in less athletic couples (or cast 3 young female teams: friends, sisters, lesbian couple).

Well, they cannot control who wins. For people who want to see an all woman team winning, TAR11 was the best chance available. That both great teams lost to a fake couple has to be a bitter pill. If neither Charla/Mirna or the Beauty Queens were going to win, then at least losing to a "real" team would have made it easier. Eric/Danielle may have won fair and square, but they had no business being on the show as a team. If we see a young "mactor" team of two men in the future, it will be probably be a team that they can spin into an interesting story like former drug addicts who get their lives together. I don't count the Hippies as a young athletic male mactor team.

Does it make this season somehow more entertaining that instead of two athletic guys, we have bland young female teens and even more bland, predictable couple teams? And even without mactor male teams, we have dumbfucks on the race who are whining because other teams dare to talk to each other and make alliances. Maybe TAR can ban that next.
