Then all the conflict rested on Kelly and Christy and they left, and then it was incredibly boring.

This season had promise until F5, then all the interesting teams were gone and it became a big snoooooozefest. Even DAndrew isn't saving it - too predictable with their dumb moves played out by now.

Posts: 4194 (12/04/08 1:43 AM) Registered user Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	TAR is a lot like the James Bond franchise... you have the early classics, Sean Connery/TAR1-3 Then you have the long, drawn out Roger Moore era that's mostly crap, but there's a Spy Who Loved Me in there (5 standing out between 4, 6, 7 and 8) Following that you have Timothy Dalton. You take it as new and fresh at face value but realise it's really just more of the same (9) Then you have the Pierce Brosnan era, it's had a bit of a facelift and starts off on a high... but soon descends into utter crap (10, All-Stars) Finally you have TAR12 (Casino Royale) which is an epic return after a long wait, though with an unsatisfying ending. Then there's TAR13, which simply can't hold up after the high expectations set by the triumphant return (Quantum of Solace) but you still shrug your shoulders and think "it's better than nothing"

What happened to the most important factor of TAR, airport drama, can't getting on flights is like the most exciting thing on Earth and that was why Chip and Kim won, big time.

If this season had been on after season's 8-9 it would be getting so much more praise. Timing is everything

Posts: 1564 (12/07/08 4:27 AM) Registered user Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	what? this season sucks, bland tasks, bland teams, it's just like all the horrible alpha male dominated seasons except its dominated by Nick and Starr who are conniving for no reason (at least past conniving teams gave clear and entertaining results) and those mactors from california of season 12 still managed to give us one of the best TAR seasons that stand proudly with TAR 1, 2, 3 and 5.

No, TAR would be in danger of cancellation. TAR9 had the teams who were 1st and 2nd in Leg 1 ending up 2nd and 1st in the finale; TAR13 could likely have the teams who were 1st and 2nd in Leg 1 ending up 1st and 2nd in the finale. That kind of result doesn't exactly encourage anyone except hardcore fans to stick around (and even among actual fans nobody really gave a shit about the teams this year compared to most other seasons).

If we had a Terence/Sarah + Nick/Starr + Kelly/Christy Final 3... this season would have been almost as good as "the Awesome TAR12". But definitely, other than the boot order, TAR13 had poorer locations (in general) and poorer tasks. (in terms of drama created)

They were all really boring people defined by their weird clothing and hobbies. I'll give you that Kelly & Christy were just as dumb as Nate & Jen. Ta-pie. Ron was a huge asshole, though, I don't think the apple fell too far from the tree. He was the first one to come closest to Jonathan's level of assholishness.
