Predictable isn't always bad as long as the story is well told.

I'd rather watch a bad episode of The Amazing Race than a good episode of most any other reality series.

However, I was disappointed in this one. We should have been shown more of the beekeepers and less of the frat boys. We saw more of Debra and Steve on TAR4. If you have an "obvious boot", then hype the sentimentality and go for it. The editing felt a little cold to me.

I understand that they probably decided to do an 11 leg race for pure monetary reasons. Which I don't like. The Fast Forward on every leg was eliminated and it's a shame. It allowed us to see more culture and had the chance of saving a team.

It does seem a little like they went through the motions. However, I will give it another episode before I judge. First episodes are very difficult because you have to introduce everyone and get the race started. I'd love to see a race with no non-elimination legs, but that won't happen.
