Here is the clip of where the helicopter shot aims at the crater starting from the lake.
Even I wouldn't walk that damn far. But then again the producers made the contestants in S16 swim from island to island to look for the idol. |

I mean, yea i dont disagree with them making it really hard to find, but i dont think Dan should be faulted for not finding it, i wouldntve thought to look behind the forest either. |

Oh heck yeah that is far. I don't think it was easy to find at all. I do think Dan could've figured it out though because it doesn't seem as hard
as idol finding in Micronesia. He was probably really tried though
