I do watch House from time to time. My daughter gets the season DVDs but I have yet to sit down and start watching from the beginning. Where are the House comparisons coming from? How are these shows similar to you? Just curious. I watch House, and I have no idea where the comparisons are coming from. I don't really find them similar at all, except that I wouldn't mind some naked fun time with the male leads in each show. |

I just watched it, and I heard "think" as well. Loved him pointing his cell phone at crazy couple, lol.

i got a total "house" vibe from that second ep.
from the get-go, pj has been irritatingly over-the-top, and right too often (like always) for his frustrated female boss. and he enjoys it. in first ep i got this real sense of awe from the cbi troops about pj's "gifts." when a question arose they all (aside from teresa, the boss) looked at him. for an answer. the whole solution was an a -> b progression that pj already knew. which in the end seemed to piss off the cbi crew. second ep? a lot more push back, a lot more "obvious and sure solutions" from those that are not pj that were each eliminated as the hour went on. a lot of work on the chalkboard. timelines and whatnot. i almost thought it was the sheriff myself. in the end, pj is proven right. huh... that seemed very "house like" to me. maybe not you. not like a ripoff, but some interesting parallels. those were my reasons for posting my thoughts. and i will watch again next week. this show is growing on me. eta: fix spelling...

How are these shows similar to you? Just curious. Like House, Patrick is the "brain" in the group who exasperates his supervisor (Cuddy/Robin Tunney) and is somewhat resented by his team. His approach is very unorthodox (the scenarios in which the perpetrators were apprehended in both episodes were hardly by-the-book) and would be considered unprofessional and incendiary by most. Patrick isn't a misanthrope, but he derives a little pleasure from getting under his team's skin. Patrick's unorthodox approach to investigating also reminds me of the quirky lead from LIFE. I like all three shows (so far). |
