She actually did raise the point about going uphill being different than what she is used to - see FLF's post above. The editing remains open-ended,
leaving it up to the viewer to decide whether to buy her excuse or not. At worst, it is inconclusive. Based upon your post, even you were inclined to accept
her explanation if it were not for the negative reaction of those you were watching with. In any case, your argument for negativity seems to be based upon
what they didn't show, but we don't know what the editors didn't show. Sure, they might have left stuff out that would have made her look better,
but they could also have left stuff out that would have made her look worse. It is inconclusive, which is why we go with what is shown, and that is shown
neutrally.

Thanks for the chart, Warrior! Who's pumped for tonight? I'll be watching with a friend of mine (very very casual viewer) who I've never watched it
with before, so I'll see if she picks up on anything we should be looking for in the editing. Also, another thing I've noticed with the casual viewers
I know, is that they all know who Marcus is, but they don't know his name. However, they DO know Corinne, Crystal, Matty & Randy's names. Something
to think about.

One random thing I was thinking about with Ken: I had him as my #4 winner choice for the first week, but this might lower him a bit for me. He had the
confessional saying he's "a huge-time strategist" and then they showed the scene with him wanting to boot Gillian, yet Michelle went home. So in
that way, perhaps the editing is suggesting that he's not that great of a strategist after all. It will be interesting to see how he's edited
tonight...

Hey TLS, no doubt I'm making an argument from silence and the final say will be inconclusive, but everything we do here is based on speculation of what
they did show versus what they could have shown (which is *almost* entirely unknown to us - only speculated). This hill climbing debate isn't a hill
I'm willing to die on, or even fight for a little more than I have, but I did feel negativity toward her in the analysis of her edit and thought it worth
throwing in to the discussion. And you're totally right that she referenced it being a hill, I forgot that...but her tone was notably lacking in humility
and brought excuses instead.
Is all that to say that you're wrong? No, definitely not. You're an awesome analyst! It's just a different opinion. |

Of course only one Charlie can make F2/3! Hopefully, it would be the Charlie that has one brain that works as one. I read the debate about Crystal and I still see her being portrayed as a "Dumb Player". That certainly isn't a positive role. |

I agree with those, including TLS, that it's interesting that Crystal got so much edit attention. Her second confessional was incredibly spliced together to get her to say what she said. Maybe it was that the Olympic Gold Medal quotes were to much tv gold to pass up. I also can see her receiving a chance to redeem her elite runner status later, but all we have to look for is a winner edit and something crafted like this isn't it. |

Yeah, I was just coming to post that this recap really upset me. It's like the recaps are always extremely biased and telling you exactly what you're
supposed to this. It's always Jeff's slant on the events that happened not just reporting things objectively. Interesting that they didn't mention
the Onion Alliance at all though...
Obviously, Ace/Sugar is going to come up in this Episode, and Paloma will be on the outs with her tribe or something like that based on what they showed. |
