I'll throw my two cents in:

Type A and Type B edits:

I think it should work. If and when all remaining players have major flaws with their Type A edit, especially in twist-heavy seasons, edgic should look around for people with Type B edits - UTRP-ish, with a larger than normal spike in visibility and complexity\insight post merge. Might be connected to someone with a Type A winner's edit who was eliminated. It's not a free extra pick, you take that route if you are convinced no one has a good Type A edit.

Yeah, edgic is supposed to pick a winner by merge, but sometimes it can't, and if everyone's edit is looking bad at F8 - looking at type B edits surely wouldn't hurt.

OTT vs CP

I have been surprised to see how many times close calls about the fine line between OTT and CP came about. I was surprised, because CP and OTT are complete opposites.

OTT:

4) Usually lacking in strategy, or strategy not expressed with much internal conflict - but they can have lots and lots of conflict with other people; no remorse if N and no "evil" strategizing if P - only focusing on loyalty or saving one's own skin

CP:

3) Someone who expresses internal conflict over a situation, someone who expresses a "deep" or turbulent emotion like remorse, loneliness, or betrayal expressed intelligently and not like "You're a liar, T!;" someone who demonstrates a complex strategy or bold strategic move and their reasoning for it. There has to be something shown in interviews that contradicts what we've seen or adds conflict to the scenario.

I picked those to accentuate just how much OTT and CP cannot be together at the same time in the same place. There is no fine line between complex and simplistic, and the difference between the rating that says "three dimentional" and the one that says "flat" shouldn't be that hard to gauge. Yet the editing in the show does not conform to edgic guidelines, and a lot of times players are presented to us in a way that incorporates both OTT and CP traits (someone getting soaring music and helicopter shots while crying, and also showing real insight into long-term strategy in a different confessional. How would you rate that?).

Balancing them out to a MOR is wrong for the same reason balancing out P and N to Neutral is wrong - it does not represent the edit a player actually got on the charts, at all. The difference between Charlie's MOR narrations and Sugar's teary, giggly, sweet-heart strategist edit that was constantly debated as OTT or CP is enormous, and there is absolutely no reason to call them the same. In fact, most of edgic seems to recognize this, and the balancing out of OTT and CP to MOR is, from what I can tell, rare. Instead we throw out either the OTT or the CP component of the edit, as if it never existed. Seems to be the wrong way to go about things.

So, I'm gonna take Brazil and try out something. Everytime there is a close call between OTT and CP, or maybe even when there is a lot of debate weather someone is OTT or CP, I'm going to mark it as a new rating - something like "Insightful Caricature" (I should probably come up with a better name).

I should probably come up with guidelines for said imaginary rating only I will use, but for now I don't think that's necessary. The debate between CP and OTT is a strong indicator that neither fit well, as they are, again, completes opposites.

I also wonder if there's some record of close calls, so I can look to see if there are any patterns.

Also, regarding Bob winning:

• Fang negativity makes sense.
• Recaps hate for the Kelly pick and the Jackquie boot makes sense.
• Boat scene does not make sense, but maybe that was just a scene...
