I can't speak for RobVS but I didn't mean it as an attack on you, specifically, Blake. I think that everyone should try to be more open minded
and less dismissive about other people's interpretation of the edit. I thought this season was fun because their wasn't an obvious or spoiled winner. I
hope season 18 has a lot of possible winners too.

So because my favorite coincided with my pick for winner, I'm dumb?
Sugar seemed like the whole package to me for her edit. Beginning to end she had a great edit and I saw her as the winner. Big deal, I got duped. But I didn't say she was the only one that could win. I saw her, Crystal, and Corinne as good chances to win. Bob was an outside shot but I didn't really peg him as a winner choice, I thought he was too UTR. Kenny in no way was going to win. The onions hated him as much as they hated the rest of them, so you were pretty delusional to think he'd win. The Onions favored Matty the most of the Fangs, not Kenny. If you weren't so blinded with your love of Kenny, you'd have noticed that. And I'm sorry, but Kenny/Marcus didn't follow any past winners to me. Marcus had bland activity in the episodes and was shown forming an alliance. Kenny was shown to be a moron that was looking to hook up with girls like the younger guys of Tambaqui in Amazon. A lot of his moves surrounded him allying with the hot girls of the season. Most of you picked Marcus cause spoilers pegged him a winner because of their own speculation. Marcus' edit was not a winner edit in the beginning. If anyone had an early winner edit, it was Ace. He fit the past winners, especially in recent seasons, showing himself in charge and explaining himself. But because spoilers said Marcus, you followed. Oh and I have no shame in admitting I am attacking you Blake with my posts. You seemed to find it acceptable to do all season, so shoes on the other foot and suck it up. |

Well I think the opposite. There were NO possible winners based on edgic. Sugar was a huge distraction with a terrible start. Crystal was a huge distraction
turned unimportant in the merger. Corinne lacked depth. Bob's edit was holding back. Kenny's numbers and ratings were superb, but his substance took a
bad turn at the merger. Matty's edit lacked in too many departments. Susie... lol.
This season did prove one thing; INV and more than 1 or 2 OTTs means you don't win. |

I didn't even post much for the latter half of the season (when you seemed to start posting a lot). I find the pre-season the most important part of the
season.
I supported Kenny, so I'm blinded (when, as a fan, didn't want Kenny to win). You supported Crystal, Sugar and Corinne ALL WHOM LOST. You bore me hypocrite. I'm outtie talk to yall laterz. |

BlakeB717 wrote: That did hold up really well. Idk, people pegged Bob as OTT and INV a few times this season...I have a problem with objective rules like that because the ratings themselves are subjective. For instance, a lot of people thought Parvati was INV during the swap episode in Micronesia. I think it's hard to say "it's undebatable that Person X loses because of this debatable rating" you know? Unless it's a long string INV like Natalie, one INV in an episode where they don't go to tribal council or something...it doesn't seem that concrete to me. |

getting real wrote:I picked Kenny, after I had been ripped to shreds both before and after Corinne was voted out. I saw no point in trying to look for another alternative option so I just gave up and picked Kenny, cos why not? But I shouldn't have and I was totally wrong. I admit I'm wrong, all the time. I was wrong with Cassie, I was wrong with Marcus / Corinne / Kenny. The only one I've been right with was Parvati. But I keep trying new options, even if they're wrong. We were ALL wrong this time, so who cares? And Cantthinkofaname, why wouldn't I be allowed to vote? Because of my ratings? Or my winner picks? Oh, and I wasn't the only one that ever voted for Corinne after the merge. Thanks. It gets old being one of the main scapegoats around here for any alternative thinking. Whatever. This gets old. I'll be out of the country for the next season so if I'm lucky I'll just be doing episode ratings anyway. I'm sure some of you useless complaining bitches will be very happy about that. ETA: Oh, and I gave Bob 2 INV's on my chart, and 3 OTTP's. |

He got a lot of SPV. It saved Cassandra from INV an episode or two before the merger too.

INVs should be handed out very sparingly, but when they ARE handed out they should 100% eliminate a player from contention.

Blake, stick to your guns. Edgically, Marcus was the best pick, and then Kenny after the merge. Bob was not viable edgically. Neither was Sugar or Corinne or Crystal. Edgic failed this season to pick the winner. Oh well, we'll get 'em next year ! But Edgic's failure with the Marcus and Kenny picks DOES NOT EXCUSE those who stupidly supported Corinne and Sugar and Crystal. So those that think "anything goes" in Edgic next season should spare us their drivel and start their own "Speculation Based On Fandom" thread.

It surprises me that someone who picked their fav Alexis as a winner would be so harsh. How quickly we forget.

Oo was also one of the few to back Todd as the winner, when everyone else was backing Bluto...er...I mean Amanda (or Peih-Gee, for those who hadn't read
the spoilers).

I'm not saying he's bad at this or whatever, I'm just pointing out how silly it is for anyone to accuse anyone else of letting bias in when it
affects almost all of us. Plus "your pick was still stupid!" is a dumb thing to say when everyone was wrong MULTIPLE times this season. Especially
considering the very guidelines they cited were proven wrong this very season, and so it was actually NOT a good reason to discredit their picks.

One lession that ep.2 chart should teach - how freaking screwed and biased visibility and our measures of it are towards the tribe that goes to TC. It blinds
us to people on the winning tribe.
S13 Yul was #1 pick ep.1, he slipped to #4 after Aitu won a couple iCs and he got UTR1. S16 Parv was #1 pick ep.1, she began to slip after ep.5-7 avoiding TC. S17 Kota wins 6/7 ICs, only Marcus (their Tom W) gets emough Vis to remain edgicking viable according to edgic orthodoxy Something is wrong with this part of edgic. |

And based on edgic fundamentals and the past 5 seasons, picking anyone other than Kenny and Marcus was ridiculous. But didn't I say the best analogy for S17 was Guatemala? That season edgics pic went 10th, and the flawed follow-up pics never did any better. We also had a negatively edited tribe taking control at the merge. And a comeback winner edgic couldn't predict. |

AS OF THE FINALE POST, OVERALL RATINGS WILL BEGIN TO BE TALLIED (by me) SO START THINKING ABOUT OVERALL RATINGS (do not post any yet, please!) Thanks that is all. |

regarding all this hoo-haa about whether so-and-so should be allowed to post or not...blah blah
personally... i think everyone's opinion is valid and useful. I like posts that show a different point of view from my own, because it makes me think about what i've seen and whether or not i am being biased about someone in my ratings. Not that it helped me this year... i never resolved bob's role in my head. I never saw him as the winner though, except for flippantly like how scepticA posted about the "tree of knowledge". And while i didn't agree with astro's take on corrine, it was still interesting to see someone trying to find a different answer than just hopping on the bandwagon. In retrospect, I see now that Marcus' edit was really the big distraction from Bob on Kota. Marcus and Gary had that in common... they were the big distraction from the real, UTR winner. Marcus from being the leader of Bob's Tribe, and Gary for being the sportstar that Danni recognized. When Marcus got voted off... the question that we should have asked, but didn't... was WHY was Marcus pushed up by the editors? Who was he hiding? Who was in his shadow? Anyway... random thoughts from a quick scan of the comments. BTW... some really excellent discussion. Hopefully, in the next few days I'll have a window in which I want to tabulate & summarize all of the really great ideas and points that have been discussed / tossed around over the last week. Oh yeah...someone asked whether we should let Astro continue voting... for your info... Both Astro and Blake are regularly in the top 10 from the mean for voting on ratings each week. This means that they are both consistently voting within the majority. Since we had an average of 20 to 21 voters... i'd say that is pretty damn good. eta: spelling
