She's been P and has made moves and to the audience, if she's in the F3 (which she most likely is) why wouldn't sweet little Sugar win? Sugar can't win; no surprise, too P, bad first couple of episodes. FTC loser (jury hates her, but they haven't shown it much on the show other than with Corinne and Randy) Susie can't win, obviously, and Corinne, Randy, Marcus have reasons to hate her and the audience has slightly seen that. She'll be Becky/Cassandra in this mess. Who? No votes to win. Bob and Matty, both strong, both very P. I can't see Matty winning. His edit just lacks too much for my liking. Strategy does play a part; he hasn't been shown deserving enough (for my liking). Bob, too P, but on my chart, only 1 OTT (MOR in the premeire for me) and no INV. He's got the winner-ish MOR/UTR pre-merger on my chart and CP in the merger. He got a helicopter shot, and the scene with Sugar was interesting this episode, with just Bob standing there staring at nature was intriguing... but I'm going off on a tangent. He's too P, and he's looking golden right now. I refuse to fall for it. If it's not Ken, it Bob, but it should be Ken. Kenny has the doubt, has the craft, has an edit that is similar to past winners, and would be a surprise win and his likeability pre-merger is still in people's head; he's the videogamer. How cool! But I'm predicting a CPP finale from him and pulling it off.

Posts: 9678 (12/12/08 6:31 PM) Registered user Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	Regarding Ken's "negative" edit, when so much of the game (especially in a specific round, much like this episode) is revolved around everyone wanting to triumph the "villain" (even if it's the winner), how can it not be shown? Ken's negative edit can more-so be just justifying why he keeps getting into hot water. (And afterall, he didn't have a negative edit pre-merge, because he wasn't in hot water with multiple players going after him and his ally.) When you have someone (Sugar) making arguably the biggest play yet in the game have her reasoning as she wants the "good guys" to prevail, there's gonna have to be reasoning to back it up, and Ken's edit starting around the merge, IMO, was just shaping up to how he got into the position that he's in, and showing why he's in that position. So if he does win, agreed, I'm seeing a positive edit in the finale. If Ken never shook anything up and stayed a neutral player (and still had the same confessionals that we've seen), i'd say they would have been edited to come across more positive. Logically, it seems like he has a slim chance at making F3, but the key, yet random statements (a 1 in 5 shot of what, Ken? A 1 in 5 shot at a million dollars) that contradict his underdog status going into the F5 is pretty interesting.

Bob: CPP4 Crystal: MORN3 Ken: CPN4 Matty: MOR3 Sugar: CPP4 Susie: UTR1 Winners: Bob: If Bob won, it would explain the ENTIRE pre-merge. I mean, according to my chart, he got an INV, but so did Kenny. Bob winning would explain the Kota dominance and his lack of visibility makes sense because during Kota's dominance, they were also being set up as villains that needed to fall. I mean, Bob is a lovable guy and if he wins after making two fake idols and winning four challenges, it would be hard to edit him any differently. Plus he fits into the season's underdog AND good vs. evil theme. Mainly, I have him as my number one pick because Matty just seems to have absolutely no reason for him to be the winner, Sugar looks to be too hated, overall, and Kenny looks like he's too arrogant and evil. If I'm right, it's epic and I get to be what would've happened to Astro is Cassandra had won. If I'm wrong, meh. It's better than picking Amanda and Cirie and being so sure they'd win, and still losing. Kenny: Honestly, I'd say four of the final 5 could legitimately have winners' edits this season. Ken has plenty of doubt and a connection to the underdog story, and he has so many superfluous scenes and talks of how he's grown out there for his story to end before the finals. It would just make no sense for him to get a growing up arc and have no real culmination to that arc. Plus, he has jury connections with everyone in the final 10, save for Susie, and she seems like she's guaranteed to make final 3. Matty: I can see that he's definitely a viable choice, but he just strikes me as such an odd edit. There's just so many things that make no sense to me. The fact that he was singled out, moreso than GC even, in episode one as being a quitter. The fact that he gave up and was hopeless on Fang. The fact that he moved against Ken & Crystal and betrayed them first. The fact that too much of his story was based around his girlfriend. The fact that he was shown as befriending evil Randy and originally suggesting the plan to boot heroic Bob (forcefully so, thus causing Sugar to doubt him in the first place). And the fact that he has just been so whiny and uncomplex through the whole game. I mean, he's still a legitimate pick, but his edit is just so fucking weird for a winner. Sugar: According to my chart, she has some OTTs, but so do a lot of the players, and aside from her first two episodes, she's been pretty important to the overall story. I mean, there's plenty of doubt that Kota would ever vote for her. She's been editted so positively that if she's in the final 3, like everyone seems to think she is, and she's been editted so well, as opposed to Amanda who was a whole lot of filler, if she made it to the end, maybe the surprise is that Sugar wins it all for being the player who truly grew the most and smartened up and made the moves she needed to make in order to win. I know I'm gonna get yelled at, probably by Oo, followed by James Barber, then Blake, then James again, then Astro, then Oo again, but this season just has such an odd edit that I think any of those four players are edgically viable. Susie, of course, is completely not going to win. That's one of the major reasons I worry about Bob. Those five S0s in a row.

Sugar getting doubt = LOSER Make up your mind, those of you who are making hypocritical decisions, cough Blake cough. Sugar has been getting some doubt heading into this finale from Randy/Corinne, and some in the last episode now that she's left her F3 alliance of Kenny/Crystal. She's got just as much doubt as Kenny, but yet is getting ignored. Her edit is great and she is a viable candidate for winning. Sugar may be edited as a positive player, but she's still getting doubt and even though I think she can definitely win, average viewers probably are wanting her to win, but doubting her chances as of late. On the other hand, Sugar's positive edit as someone that the viewers are rooting for might be leading to a Matty or Bob win. Think about it, if Sugar is one of the favorites from the audience and she loses, she gets the positive edit because she also loses to a "good guy" and the audience isn't upset like it would be if she lost to Kenny.

OTTs don't eliminate someone from winning. JennaM holds the record at three OTTs, two of which were OTTNs. Sandra hit OTTN in her ep3. Amber hit two OTTs, with the last one being an OTTN at Ep14! Looking over Warrior's visibility charts, I see we gave Sugar INV for having just two sentences in Ep2. But, we gave Kenny a UTR1 for having just two sentences in Ep3. My guess is the difference is SPV. Kenny probably was talked about, while Sugar wasn't. But, that's just an assumption and I need to rewatch. As for Bob, I agree that his edit kept him at arm's length from the other Onions. But, he also hasn't been "reintroduced" since the opening two-hours, when we were shown what a great Boy Scout he is. Why did he agree to blindside Randy? We are never told by him or anyone else. We have yet to understand Bob's reasons for playing the game, other than others saying that he's just there for the outdoor experience. Yes, Kenny was wrong to assume that Bob doesn't know how and isn't playing the game. But, what does Bob think? That part of his edit seems very lacking to be the winner. ...but this season just has such an odd edit that I think any of those four players are edgically viable. I agree, it's been an odd edit. Especially the heavy trashing of Fang and then the "new start" episode at the merge. But I'd divide that list of four in half. Bob and Matty lack enough complexity in connection to the end for me. But Sugar and Kenny have had lots of end game development. Ken from the very start and Sugar once she found the HII. They both have stories of growing and finding that they can play the game of Survivor. And, as your chart shows, Sugar and Kenny both have 2-sentence episodes. If either of them win, that probably needs to be given higher priority next season. Although I'm sure there have been several winners without introductory confessionals in their season.

It is a truly symbiotic reality show relationship which shows just what can be achieved when producers and contestants are prepared to help each other out. All you need to know about Sugar's edit is contained in the exchange between her and Bob when she convinces him to give the fake idol to Randy. She looks directly at Bob the camera and says "I have ............", allows for a very pregnant pause to allow the audience to gasp in anticipation that she's going to reveal that she has the idol and continues, " .... your best interests in mind." It's a beautiful (?) thing to watch and perfect in its execution.

I'm not sure on ratings, I was dazed throughout the episode. I don't think Sugar was OTT though, and Crystal was more MOR than OTT. And Blake....you're such a...happy soul.

If I had to guess, I'd say Ken is the most edgically viable person. Sugar and Bob have INVs. Matty is one-note. All have pluses, but the cons they do have are too great, where as Kenny isn't all THAt negative. His post-merge edit has been all about doubt. Look at the previously-on segments. Anywho, I'm thinking Kenny wins this. Though if I may be off topic, I'd really love to see Bob win. Or Kenny or Matty even. Sugar has no shot, and Susie doesn't either, so I'm perfectly happy with how this season will end.
