I actually think Sugar is the safest bet of making the final three (but not winning).
My feeling too, cl.
Also, she isn't one of the players with a confessional in the opening segment of the season. I'm still counting on that.
It looks like either Matty or Kenny to me, too. I've only done a first watch, so no real decision yet, but my first take is:
Matty
Matty had more about getting out of the Fang ghetto (saying he's the only one to be there the whole time.) And he got all the solid comments on the culture outing. Both are consistent to his edit, so it might point to a winner run. But, he's also been flattening out again in development. Agreed, the Ozzy Effect. All culture awareness, physical effort, and wailing about his situation.
Kenny
This was the big pivotal ep and Kenny got all the tie-ins to his opening confessional:
He's grown into a man and come out of his shy shell.
He's started to assert himself and stand up to the bullies.
Even Randy (who's played the part of the sharp, cynical observer) compliments him on growing up.
He refers again to his gaming background and how he is a great strategist and manipulator. (More silly rat noises.)
The scene on the boat and in pulling in the fish was a Cirie moment. He has grown from the nerd in the basement and now is proud to be the provider for the two women.
Kenny's is the most consistent reflection of his opening confessional of any player.
This also sealed the deal for Parvati last season. Her opening confessional was about who she had been and what she was going to do to win. Her edit followed that confessional thematically.
Thematically, Kenny is accurately reflecting his opening statement: He's a gamer, he's shy, but has overcome that weakness, he's a great strategist.
Matty has been consistent with his opening confessional as well. But his confessional isn't game focused. He's a personal trainer, who recognizes and appreciates that he is in Eden.
This has been consisently backed up in his comments, the elephant scene and now at the cultural reward. But, he was silent at TC tonight, (if I remember right. Gotta watch again.), and that seems to leave out a perfect opportunity to bring him back to the game.
Jury ties:
Maybe most compelling is who has jury ties and it is hands down, Kenny at this point. I'm not that sold on the idea of needing jury story, but in this case it has been glaring.
Will rewatch and make a choice, but for now it looks like Kenny first (even though he talks about winning a disturbing amount), Matty second, followed by probable F-3 Sugar and possible F-3 Crystal.
P.S.: Oh and Bob gets the Yau Man Rocket Science Award after all!
