I haven't tuned in since Jacque got voted out until a friend mentioned Marcus' demise and I was shocked into popping into Edgic. CL won't agree with this, but she couldn't win. Had she won, either the disrespect would not have been shown or she would've been shown to have seen the error of her ways. As things stand, I feel Matty is ahead in the unselfishness/team orientation department. Of course, things may change. More thinking to be done. And, Darius, I'm surprised at your interpretation of the snake challenge. My take on it was that Matty was portrayed as single-handledly fighting a losing cause. A classic tragic hero's edit. Anyway, why wasn't Crystal given a CPP4? I thought that she was very positive especially when she was like, ''Ken, I can't write your name down.'' It was kind of like Parvati's edit in the Amanda/idol episode except Crystal got more airtime.

I found that most people here thought it was a positive performance on his part and while I can see how it could be interpreted that way, it was not how I saw it. When he originally started telling people to drop, I thought it might be an interesting 'you are only as strong as your weakest link' kind of strategy, but he was proven wrong at the end of the challenge by Kota's teamwork. I should also mention that I have only seen each episode once (which I think offers an alternate perspective, not necessarily a better or worse one). It could be possible that I just have a foggy memory of it or something.

I just think it was more Kotas's strength that won out, rather than teamwork . Once the rest of Fang stopped pulling their weight it meant that Matty would have to carry them as well unless they dropped out.

Ha ha, I had forgotten that! Well after I got my fix with Jenna M winning, I rooted for Rupert and was a Darrah skeptic. I didn't expect to like Randy preshow, but ep.1-2 won me over. There is hope for Ken, but he will need to disassociate himself from Crystal and the Sucky Fang vs Awesome Kota storyline. It might be like when Getting Real said the Couples were doomed after their ep.2 edit, but Parvati won by turning on the Couples Alliance, booting Ozzy, and winning a jury vote over Amanda.

Yeah, last season I sucked majorly. It was the rat imagery that got me; I didn't realize it only applied to Amanda! All joking aside, though, Fang is getting the trash edits that were the bane of the Fans last season. I know there are are differences (no clean slate!) to last season but if a Fang member doesn't win this time, we can put away 'trashed-underdog-turns-it-around-and-wins' edit for evermore. Whatever the tenets of good story-telling might say otherwise...

And I agree completely. It's interesting how effective the editing has been able to show him turning on Fang and yet representing a drive to win with them. Have to consider that by trying, however ineffectively, to help Jacquie and Ace, that he benefits for it and fans feels differently toward him. That is weighing on me. Michael

Matty's snake challenge loss was something else: Close-ups of him straining every muscle, not giving up, giving it his all while those around him fell. Of itself it was neither a winning nor a losing edit but it I feel it was one which was intended to continue the impression that he leaves everything in the field of battle for the team. OTH, you are blessed to have good looking kids you can use for avatars. I have to hide mine so instead I have to decide what fits my mood at any given time! The previous week, Kenny did everything in his power and put his relationship with Sugar on the line to keep Crystal; this week, Crystal does the same for her Kenny. They gave them each facial reactions to this news; we were shown Kenny realizing he was in trouble, looking dejected for a few seconds, then immediately saying they need Susie for the numbers. "Nobody outwits Crystal Cox, baby," indeed. Neither were negative; however, I don't they were positive, really. They were just being good players, so I'd pick neutral.

I actually really liked Airplane growing up, and it'd be hard to find a movie with more slapstick than that one. I used to watch the Simpsons regularly too (though in my opinion, the early seasons were much funnier than the more recent ones). Unfortunately, these days, I rarely watch any show regularly outside of Survivor, and the movies I watch are either picked out by my wife (who prefers dramas) or on behalf of my kids. (If I'm lucky, it will be a kids movie that includes jokes for the grownups like Shrek, for instance.) Back to Edgic - I still think Ken is in the best spot. I can see a Matty win, but if he does, I think the editing has been a bit too subtle. If Randy wins, I'll have to reconsider what I saw as an too upfront edit early on. (Other than his high visibility that I still think rules him out, he would have potential.) The same goes for Crystal though her visibility spike came later. If Sugar wins, I'll need to reconsider a lot more. If anyone else wins, well, in the spirit of Airplane, I guess I picked a bad Edgic season to quit sniffing glue.

The recaps could have cast him as a betrayer, but they declined that opportunity. In his edit, Matty is a good guy. Where is our fearless leader? ...No post this week? There was a spot on the news--I only caught the end of it--about some guy they pulled off a bridge in New Hampshire. They said he was shouting, "Marcus, Amanda, Ozzy, Moe, Larry, the cheese," over and over. Not sure what it means.
