Glad you made it through. I know what you mean about no internet. I sat here for 3 days with no power & finally had to evacuate down south to my dad's where they never lost power. Luckily he has DSL so I got to stay there for a couple of weeks & was totally spoiled. Now I'm back home to my dial-up. Bummer. But hey, at least the worst is behind us so now we can get on with recovery.

Posts: 3003 (09/24/08 7:25 PM) Registered user Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	wow, i'm seriously touched. thanks, ALL of you. i had no idea. comcast sucks balls. at least centerpoint energy has been issuing multiple statements daily about what they're doing and how it's going. no word from comcast. zero. my whole block is getting AT&T and direcTV. it must be bad because they literally aren't saying a word so they deserve to lose a lot of customers. that's just chickenshit. frankly, i think the electric co. has done a great job. those guys are working their asses off. comcast just looks like they don't care and that's a huge mistake unless they just don't care that people are now leaving them in droves. ETA: has everyone else from here checked in? i've heard from a couple. i saw a post from SK, so i know she's ok. right now, like she said the biggest threat is from fucktards who don't understand the concept of a 4 way stop where the lights are still out. that makes driving even MORE challenging than it already was. I was at another hurricane party and didn't even see this thread until days later. I'm in Katy and had no problems at all, besides the howling wind and rain scaring the shit outta me. We didn't lose power except for some flickering and lost cable for about 30 minutes in the wee hours when Ike was arriving. The worst thing that happened on our street was two gates down and a trampoline lost. Fortunately, the trampoline was chained to the one next door through the fence when it became a pile of twisted poles. Otherwise, it would have gone though someones windows. I stopped by to say that AT&T U-Verse rocks! Like I said, we never lost it. Neighbors on our street with comcrap had service interruptions - some for 3 or 4 days - and we had electricity on this street! We got such bad service from comcrap when we had them. One of the things we really, really hated was that when our service went out, we had to call the 800 number that the entire country called. We went through endless automated messages to determine where we were and then someone finally answered the phone to tell us if there was a general service outage or if it was just us. At least Time-Warner had a regional number with automated messages with the general service outages reported. That was just one of our complaints! All this to say... dump comcast fast!
